| After watching qualifying we were fully prepared for a Montoya win. But then once again he did a `Montoya` - that is knock into someone - usually Michael Schumacher at the first corner. The move has later come in for a lot of discussion, most of it saying it was a racing incident and a fairly basic mistake by Montoya. Not Montoya though, he sees it as whole heartedly Michael Schumacher's fault and from the subsequent fuss he's made it seems he expects hanging to be brought back with Michael's head in the gallows. Give it a rest Monty its really rather boring. Anyway the upshot was Montoya needed a new rear wing and ended the race a rather bad tempered fifth. So what did happen? Well Michael S appeared rather unaffected by the whole thing and went on to establish a commanding lead over Ralf who was second. Barrichello thought he would come along to what was shaping up to be a Schumacher party only to be rather dissappointed by his engine exploding a few laps later. The sight of him walking away after his seventh consecutive Brazillian retirement was really rather sad. Anyway Ralf and Michael had a quite exciting although ultimitely predicatble battle, with Michael ending up first and Ralf just a mere 0.5seconds behind him. The latest round of Schumi vs Schumi leaves Ralf 2nd in the championship eight points behind Michael. All shaping up to rather an interesting battle. In other news, DC finished third finally scoring some points, although McLaren didn't have an entirely satisfactory day with Kimi Raikkonen finishing his day in a gravel trap. Jenson Button once again came home fourth. HOW THEY RATED Michael Schumacher - 9/10 In control. New F2002 is a force to be reckoned with. Ralf Schumacher - 8/10 Solid performance just a shame he couldn't find a way past. Juan-Pablo Montoya - 7/10 - In danger of falling into the `blame other people for own mistakes` trap. Also getting rather good at being the cause of first corner incidents. David Coulthard - 7/10 - Four out of thirty. Not brilliant for a championship. |
