Life is an everyday battle. It brings misery in various garbs with occasional flashes of joy and infrequent glimpses of the beyond. One moment we smile, the next we have a grimace. Bliss comes, but in regular short doses. You can choose to be the forever-blissful one by acknowledging that the spring of happiness is close right within. Or become the one who pulls up the curtain and watches the show, rather than enacting forever on the stage of life. Throw life a challenge. Ask it to provoke your equilibrium, shatter your calm or pose you a riddle you cannot solve.

Dare all those who sadden you to dishearten you this once. Invite your adversaries to use their premium weapons and endeavor to mar your enthusiasm for being alive. Be self-reliant for your experience of joy. Never allow time, destiny, situations or objects to have say in this matter. If you stand as your own obstruction to happiness, throw yourself a challenge.

Defeat yourself by mastering those limitations that have always let you down. Learn to see serenity beneath the turbulent waves of occurrence. See the unmoving underneath all that movement. Beneath the excitable senses, find the calm lake. Do not just practice equanimity.
