Here are the two scarfs. A friend asked me a while back about the difference in these two patterns (Old Shale a/k/a Fan & Feather versus the Ostritch Plume). The Old Shale is the original shetland pattern, Ostritch Plume is a varation of that pattern. The Old Shale pattern has the pearl ridges that run through it, while the Ostritch Plume does not. If you look closely you can see the similarity between these two patterns and the differences. I may retake and put a new picture up after I have blocked the Old Shale pattern so that the lacey effect shows better. The yarn I used was nice to work with. It is Classic Elite Mistral, 85% Pima Cotton and 15% Alpaca. Nice and soft and it should be easy to care for. I'm sure my two friends will enjoy their scarves. :) **UPDATE : A little bit better picture. Decided to do this in two different pictures so you can see the detail of each pattern. Old Shale in this one.
I went back to the dr today. I have hives, I am now alergic to another anti-biotic. Sulfa, sigh.
