Entry for June 13, 2006

Oh my gosh, where to start.  Well, first and foremost, my daughter had her baby this morning at 9:12 am.  Little Madison weighed 7lbs 4.5 ozs and was 20 inches long.  Both mom and baby are doing fine. :}  My daughter was induced due to an infection but they are both doing well.  I now have 3 grand daughters :}.  Makes up for only having one daughter :P.

Ok, the other thing, I was on my way home from work and I was stopped almost at the light which is just before I turn into my apts and I heard this huge BOOM.  A maroon car hit a black car(looked like a corvette) so hard it spun in the road and went up on the curb.  This was about 4 cars behind me so when I looked in my rear view mirror I could see him spinning.  Looks like he had been in the lane I was in which was the left lane to go straight (two lanes on my side of the road, one goes straight, and then has a turn left lane that branches off of it, and one is right turn only.)  I wasn't at the branch that lets you turn left yet, this intersection backs way up around getting off of work time.  Anyway, he must have decided he didnt want to stay in the slow lane and he was pulling into the right turn only lane and got hit.  It took the right front panel and part of his bumper off with a great deal of force.  The lady's car was almost diagonal in the road with smoke coming out of the front end.  She quickly got out and so did her son (a teenager), he went and sat in the grass, he was holding his face :{.  She went quickly over to the black car, he (could have been a she, couldnt tell) was not getting out of the car.  I saw what looked like panic in her actions and I quickly dialed 911 who put me in touch with the police and I reported the accident.  I certainly hope the guy/girl in the black car is ok, but it really points out how important it is not to get in a hurry in heavy traffic and to look carefully before pulling out into traffic. :{
