DD has been on planes many times, the first when she was 4 months old. She (and we) are pretty well prepared for airports, delays, etc., and with the problems in recent weeks, I was VERY prepared for a long delay with lots of snacks. Unfortunately, we couldn't bring drinks along.

Our flight was scheduled at about 11:30, with the online status showing 12:40. We arrived almost 2 hours early, and had no trouble with check-in or security. At the gate, between PB sandwiches (hold the salmonella), grapes, apples, and cereal bars, plus a well-stocked play area, new friends, and a DVD of Garfield, DD didn't seem to notice that we were waiting for over 3 hours.

On the plane, DD had to check out the facilities TWICE, and really enjoyed her snack. She was such a big girl, although a little tired. She started to fall asleep as we were taxing to the arrival gate...poor thing...I had to wake her up or else I wouldn't have made it through the rest of the trip.

With the help of some conversation with our neighbors on the plane, we pushed through the crankies very fast, and we headed to baggage claim. DD found carousel #3 for us, and when the bags began circulating, we were one of the first bags.

Off to the train we went...DD enjoyed it, although her puppy was a bit scared . We had to switch to get to our transfer point, then switch again to another system. It was easy. The last train was a bit crowded, but we managed to find 2 seats with room for the suitcase, and it was a short hop to the next station. Overall, despite the fact we both lost our balance and fell when the train finally stopped, it was a very smooth trip.
