We're anxiously awaiting the news from Punxsutawney about the remainder of winter, and DD is busily preparing Valentines for all of her preschool classmates and teachers. She seems compelled to have stickers and a scribble on each, and it is important to her that they go to a particular person.

We went to our library the other night (we go at least weekly, and it's walkable from from our house). I had my laptop to complete some work (I can log on to the office through the library's wireless network) I really had to get done. Unfortunately, there were no other children there to occupy her; I didn't think I was going to be able to take care of my work.

However, DD noticed a Little Mermaid icon on one of the computers in the children's room and asked to play. She sat at that computer for over 30 minutes, listening to the story and playing the game, and she stopped only when I told her it was time to go because the library was closing. I better keep a close eye on my laptop!
