The colder weather is definitely here.  I've been doing too much hibernation...but there's a lot going on, too, which is why we haven't had any entries.

DD surprised me a while ago (2 weeks?).  I have to remember to ask her teacher what they do as far as reading, because I gave her a library book, which I'm almost certain she had never heard, and while she was looking at it, she said "ask me."  This was out of the blue, but it happened to be a phrase from the book.  Hmmmmm.

We continue to have some power struggles (a/k/a competitions to see who is the most stubborn).  I'm still ahead, but the score is getting closer.  She is getting more independent (she can help herself to things from the fridge), but also does not like being left alone, and wants to be a part of whatever we're doing.  She's also going back to gestures to ask for things on occasion, such as putting her hands to her mouth in a "drink" gesture.

She had to go to the doctor this week because the school suspected she had pink eye...I'm skeptical, but the doctor gave us a prescription for .5 oz ($35) of eye drops just in case (and so we could get her back into classes).  Because she was sent home after classes had started, and her babysitter wasn't available to pick her up, it was a hectic day.

At work, I was assigned to my new home.  We're expanding our offices, so I'll be getting one of my own (I have a cubicle now).  It will be a different world.  Although I had my own office at the last place I worked, it was an interior office full of file cabinets.  This will be a full fledged private office, with a window!
