This is a recent pic of DD's 2nd cousin, R, who turned 1 this summer. R has a big brother, E, who will be 6 this winter. They look soooo much like their Mom & Dad.

We love the Fall around here. DD and I spent a lot of time outside yesterday, securing the pool cover with water pillows (nasty, dirty things...anyone have a good alternative?), and mowing the lawn. The garage is in pretty good shape so I can get a car in there, BUT I don't know if the Accord will fit, since the garage, which probably dates back to the first half of the 20th Century, is quite narrow. I hope I'm able to get it by folding in the mirrors.

DD is sleeping uncharacteristicly late this a.m. I took a 6:00 a.m. walk with the dog, who was soooo happy about it at first, until he realized this was going to be a no-nonsense walk. He might hide the leash if I try this again tomorrow. Sweater weather, for sure, but no jacket required. ;-D

DD is enjoying her new routine. Babysitter at 8:15, bus at 8:30, school till 11:10, then babysitter until Mom gets home. The babysitter watches a kindergartener, E, who will be 6 this month. DD and E seem to get along...E lives nearby and they have played together before. E likes to taunt DD a bit about her Daddy giving her juice boxes. (We don't give DD too much juice). DD's response was, "my Mommy gives me cheese sticks." Good one!
