Welcome to the official fan-website of Rhode Island's own "Face Dancer' originally known as "Jack". They formed in 1972 with the members "Carey Kress", "DJ Long", "Mark Roumelis", "Bob Mattera", & "Mike Bessette".
By 1979, near the release of their debut "This World", Carey Kress was the only founding member left in the band.
They would issue 1 album called "This World" before being dropped by Capitol Records to fund "The Knack", most known for their hit "My Sharona" to fund them. Leaving Face Dancer off to only doing shows and in 1982 disbanded. They would be revived in 1990 for "Midnite Raid" & 2015 for the eventually released "Brave New Faces" in 2016. and recently in 2026 did a show at "The Walrus" in Jacksonville, Florida. It's unknown if another album or any other shows will happen. But they are remembered mostly in the "Baltimore/Washington" area with a small cult-following. And are remembered mainly for their debut "This World" and their song "Red Shoes".
