April Reports
Since these reports are so negative, I thought I'd give you a negative picture along with them!
March 2nd: Like Buck says, December 8th seems so long ago. That's when he took me and Chris out for our ice breaker trip. It's supposed to get down to 0 tonight and then we should go on a gradual warming trend and hopefully be fishing by the 21st or so of the month. I'll start updating as soon as I start fishing. The next week or so I'll be moving the boat into the garage and getting it rigged and checked out. Chris and I signed up for the Catawba WWA today. I hope we're like number 85 or something but I have a feeling that we'll be number 1 unless Buck jumped the gun on us. It'll be good to see everyone again and hopefully meet some new competitors. Fishing season is almost here!

March 12: The ice is finally starting to melt and we have some 60 degree days ahead of us. The lake is completely ice covered so it's going to take some help from mother nature to get us out in the next couple of weeks. Even if it gets windy it can't really clear out because there's nowhere for it to go and we'll also probably have some ice bergs drifting through from the RCL bunch up in Detroit.  Looks like we may be stuck with a jigging bite at ice out instead of our usual trolling. Time will tell!

March 23rd: Chris and I went out with Buck today on his "dirty dirty" boat. We didn't catch any or even see any on the fishfider but it was nice to be out after a long winter. Lots of ice left and the Bay was the only open ramps. Picture of Buck's boat!

March 29th: Chris, Buck and I went on my boat off of Marblehead. The ice is absolutely gone in tat area and WOT is possible but it was a little rough for that today. Fish were congregated in some muddy 40 degree water by Lakeside that was moving quickly towards Marblehead. Once in the clearer and colder water the fish marks pretty much disappeared. We got nothing trolling and picked up 2 drifting blade baits and jigging spoons and lost a couple good strikes. One was 12+ and the other was 8+. I'll be back at it on Friday the 4th getting ready for the Carawba WWA. Oh yeah! The fish are still swimming and growing as we released them both. We'll probably eat a few next week though!  2 Trips
