| Sept 6th and 7th: The west side of Lorain sandbar is where we spent 2 days fishing for perch and a few hours for walleyes. We got our 60 and 59 fish limits both days with the perch coming slow on Sunday with some really crappy minnows from Dave's bait in Vermilion. I'll give him another shot one of these days but in the meantime I'll continue going to the one by the boat ramp in Vermilion. The eyes came on harnesses on Saturday and small cranks (ripshad and mini Renoskys) on Sunday. Both days was right before dark and action was pretty fast and sizes good but with no real hawgs. 44 trips Sept 20 & 21: Chris smoked me on the eyes on saturday but I got her back on Sunday. The fish were decent but not huge. biggest was about 7 pounds and I think there were 3 of them. She got them all on Reefrunners on saturday and I got mine Sunday on Deep renosky's with worm attached. 4 I think. We were at the 25-29 lines. 46 trips Sept 28th: We fished the Cranberry Ceek invitational tourney. The bite was slow and we managed 2 fish in the boat with the biggest at about 8 pounds, Chris lost a nice one too and says it was my fault!. Denny and his crew got there tourney limit and kicked some butt with one about 30" long and another in the 7 pound range. Our fish came on Reefrunners and Bombers at the 28-26 lines. The wind has really messed things up for the fall bite so far but there is time to recover I hope before the WCTG.. |
