Lately I've been through some hard times,
Recently I have delt with a lot of pain,
I just want to make it known,
That it wasn't all in vain.
I am becoming bigger for this,
I am growing strong,
I may have cried a lot of tears,
But I didn't cry for long.
I am standing with a smile,
I am holding my head up high,
"You are a beautiful person",
I said to myself with a sigh.
We were never promised riches,
Of sparkling gold and wealth,
But I am the richest in the world,
I have my life, family and health.
"For what does not kill us,
Will one day make us stronger",
I've learned this from the least likely place
It came from a stranger.
This person is one I've never met,
I've never spoken to or seen,
But I have known this person for years,
This stranger is me.
I am a new woman today,
My life has taught me something new,
I am ready to go with my life,
And I can go on living without you.
You robbed me of my time,
You've stolen a big piece of my heart,
But it is quite alright,
I don't need it for this new start.
My eyes have been opened,
To a world I've never seen,
I'd like to introduce you to someone,
It's the stranger inside of me. |
