About Me, in short: I am a singer/songwriter, film enthusiast, rock 'n roll teacher, daydreamer, nature-lover, laugh-addict. That pretty much covers it.

Musical Beginnings: I began playing piano and singing when I was very young. My mother tells me that I started showing signs that I would be a good musician when I was three years old. I started taking piano lessons when I was seven and continued until eighteen. I sang in the school choir since fifth grade and was also in the high school madrigal choir for three years, the duet/ensemble contest at ISU for four years, and various other choir things. I would say that I’m an average pianist. I learned by ear, although I do read music (getting better every day), and know more about chords and jazz progressions than classical stuff. My singing is what I am praised for. I have always loved to sing and it is much more important to me than piano (though I’d die without one). When I write music, I usually begin with a melody and then progress to chords and lyrics. I am influenced by many musicians. To name them all would be impossible. Some of the biggest influences (my big 5) are: The Band, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Miles Davis.
