Chandler woke the next morning to the sunlight blaring in through the window. Opening his eyes, he turned over and jumped when he saw Monica staring at him intently.

“I’m sorry,” she laughed. “I didn’t mean to scare you.” She rested her head on his shoulder and smiled to herself. He looked down at her, wondering how she could be so calm and collected… he on the other hand was more nervous than he’d ever been in his life. He had awoken with the thought that she might not be there when he turned over, or that she might regret the night before. But as she twirled the light hairs on his chest between her fingers, she didn’t look as if she regretted anything. She looked as content as could be, and she still had a smug grin on her face, telling him that everything was going to be okay. It would all be normal again, but normal in a different way. What are you talking about, Bing? He asked himself when he realized that he wasn’t making any sense.

“You have to go to work,” she said suddenly, interrupting his thoughts. He looked over at the clock beside Monica’s bed, and realized she was right. Good job, he thought, gotta be at work in ten minutes, and you haven’t even gotten dressed yet.

“But I’m so comfortable…” he whined, crinkling up his nose and making her laugh. A few moments later, he finally rolled out of bed. After getting Monica’s permission, he used the shower at her apartment. He had told Joey he’d be with Janice, and he didn’t feel like going over to his place to get blasted with questions about why he went.

~*~*~*~

Rachel softly closed the door behind her, not wanting to wake Monica up. She’d left Ross’s early that morning so that she would have time to come pick up her purse, which she’d left there the night before. She noticed the shower running, and figured Monica must be in there. When she heard noise coming from behind her roommate’s door, her intuition kicked in and she figured Monica must’ve had a visitor last night. She knocked on the door and quickly went in before she had a chance to be invited.

“Rach, what are you doing here?” Monica asked nervously.

“I left my purse here last night, and I need it for work,” she replied, a knowing grin creeping onto her face. “Speaking of last night… what did you do?”

Monica looked up quickly, trying to figure out if Rachel knew what happened. “Oh, not much. I went to bed kind of early… I was tired,” she lied. Rachel just grinned and nodded along. Just then they both heard the shower turn off, and Monica smiled to try to hide the fact that she was panicking inside. She didn’t want Rachel to know that her and Chandler had slept together… not yet. It was too soon. Besides, she might accidentally slip and tell Ross, and who knows what he would do to Chandler if he found out.

“So who’s in the shower, Mon?” Rachel finally asked. Monica tried as hard as she could to make up some excuse, but she knew that it was over. Any minute now Chandler would come walking in the bedroom, and Rachel would know.

“Crap,” was all she managed to say as the doorknob turned. But suddenly she had an idea. “No, Rach, your purse isn’t in here,” she said, making sure her voice was loud enough for Chandler to hear outside the door. It didn’t take Rachel long to figure out what she was trying to do, and she was getting kind of hurt that her best friend was trying so hard to hide something from her.

“Oh relax, Mon, it’s not like you slept with Chandler.” As soon as she said it, she saw the guilty and surprised look on her friend’s face, and she clasped her hand to her mouth, trying to hold in an excited squeal. “You slept with Chandler!!!” She finally blurted out. The door finally opened, and Chandler came in, wearing nothing but a towel around his waist.

“So, um, I take it she knows you slept with Chandler,” he said sheepishly. Monica just nodded, trying to hide her disappointment. It wasn’t that she didn’t want Rachel to know, it was just that she didn’t want Ross to know.

“Rach, you have to promise you will not tell Ross,” she pleaded. Rachel quickly agreed, knowing that if her boyfriend found out there was nothing he wouldn’t do to Chandler. “Thank you,” Monica said gratefully. Just then it dawned on her that she was in a relationship. Even if it had been less than a day, she was still in a relationship. She started to smile uncontrollably, and Rachel hugged her. After she let go, she turned around, remembering that Chandler was still standing behind her in a bath towel. She laughed slightly, and quickly left after whispering “Congratulations” to Monica.

“Well that was interesting,” Chandler said, once again uncomfortable. Monica sensed this, and wondered why. “Look Mon, I’m sorry if I seem a little awkward,” he said, seeing in her eyes that she was concerned. “It’s just that, well, I’m a little bit of a commitment-phobe if you haven’t noticed.” He regretted the words as soon as they left his mouth, and he saw that she was getting upset. “But it’s not like I can’t commit! I mean I want to… I really do. And I will, I promise. I’ll be good,” he added, smiling at her. She grinned back at him, happy to see that he really did want to be with her.

“Chandler, what if it doesn’t work?” she asked, her smile replaced with a confused frown. “I mean what about our friendship and everything… wouldn’t it be ruined?”

“Mon, all we can do is try. I mean no one goes into a relationship knowing that it will work out… you have to try or you’ll never know if it could’ve or not. And if it’s not going to, then I have a feeling we’ll find out before there’s any danger of really destroying our friendship,” he assured her. She smiled and walked closer to him, lacing her fingers through his. She gave him a soft peck on the lips before reminding him once again that he was supposed to be leaving. He grunted in response, and when he started to rub her back with his free hand, she knew that he wasn’t leaving any time soon.

“You might want to call and tell Doug you won’t be in… I mean who knows what might happen to the WENUS if you don’t let someone know you’re not going to show up,” she joked.

“Hey, don’t joke about the WENUS,” he teased her, “it’s a very important part of my job, you know. In fact, if it weren’t for the WENUS then I wouldn’t even have a job…” he trailed off.

“Shut up Chandler.” She grabbed him and pulled him closer to her, making him kiss her passionately. They waddled back onto the bed as he moved his hand up her back and into her hair. He cradled the back of her head as he pushed his tongue inside her mouth. She let out a contempt moan, which was muffled by his mouth on hers.

Seconds later, he was on top of her, kissing her neck, shoulders, and chest. She felt like she was in heaven… just when she thought he couldn’t turn her on any more, he did. He was running his hands all over her body, sending chills through her. He wanted to finish what he’d started the night before. He kissed down to her stomach, and reached down to dip a finger inside of her. Encouraged by her moan, he pulled his hand away and softly kissed her where it had been. His tongue once again pushed inside of her, and she closed her eyes, enjoying the feel of it all. She concentrated on what he was doing to her, so much so that she didn’t believe she could take it much longer. Wanting to get his tongue as deep inside of her as possible, she lifted her legs up and placed them on his shoulders. When he pushed further back, she let out a cry as her legs began to shake and her breathing became shallow. “Oh my God…” she kept moaning over and over, until he began sucking gently on the most sensitive part of her. She gripped his hair with her hands as her release came and went.

She tried to say something, anything… she wanted to thank him, tell him she adored him, but she could barely breathe. Climbing back over her, he saw that she was about to speak and put a finger to her lips. He traced her face with his fingertip as he guided himself inside of her, once again amazed at the incredible feel of her. Not only did she feel amazing, but she looked, tasted, smelled, and even sounded amazing as well. His senses were sent into overdrive as he made love to her, trying to hold on to every moment as long as possible. Not wanting it to end, he held on for what seemed like hours but passed in moments. He penetrated her at just the right angle, sending her off into abyss once again, his own climax not far behind.

He laid in her arms for a moment longer before finally deciding it was time to go to work. As much as he hated leaving her, he knew that he had to.

“Will you come over tonight? Now that Rachel knows, we’re free to roam around as much as we want,” she grinned at him.

“Well actually I was thinking we could go out to dinner tonight. To celebrate,” he said, smiling back at her and raising his eyebrows suggestively.

She laughed. “That sounds great,” she said before kissing him again and letting him go out the door.
