Not One Tear
We never noticed you
Until the day you died
You shocked us then
But no-one cried
I remember how you
Just walked out one day
How you slammed the door
You couldn’t stay
An hour later
You had said goodbye
Though there was no one
Who would cry
Not one tear was shed for you
A single gasp, just one
Your empty chair the only sign
That you were gone
While I can’t understand
The pain you had to bear
I think I almost can
Because the guilt is always there
