My Little Angel

 

I lost everything the day I held you

Your tiny body lay unnaturally still

Not a sound escaped your bluish lips

Not even a single breath

I stroked your baby soft cheek

And wished for the years you should have had

But I knew you never would

Because my little angel is gone forever

God stole him from me

Before he even had a chance to live

As I held my little angel for the first time

And knew that it would be the last time

I’d ever hold him in my arms

I realised I’d lost everything
