Masks
We all wear masks
To disguise ourselves
We try to keep
Our feelings hidden
So they can't be hurt
My mask is heavy
It keeps falling down
I hate to keep it on
But I must, I can't explain
I can't let my real self show
I can't invite the taunts
So I won't let you see
Please don't laugh
Don't make fun of me
When my mask slips
Your mask is painted on
You put it on with your make up
You hide the true you
You take the easy road
Your mask is firmly fixed
But mine is loose
It makes me vulverable
Whenever I pick up a pen
My soul forces free
Demanding to be seen.
