The way you stirred your morning coffee

As we chatted over breakfast

How you were always almost late for work

Yet still had the nerve to nag me

 

I remember things I thought I’d forgotten

How you cried at the movie we watched

On our very first date

The well loved book you read over and over

The exact page that always made you laugh

 

I remember more than I want to

The day you told me you were leaving

Did you know how much you hurt me?

How I tried to call you back

But you didn’t even turn round
