Fading
Distant
stars shining
As bright
as they can
But they
seem so faint and far away
A rose
petal on the table
Fallen
from a dying flower
Its
colour fading, life force draining.
A child’s
eyes sparkling
With hope
for a new day
As time
goes on that hope disappears
A flame
burning brightly
It can’t
go on forever
Fading,
like everything else, fading.
