I thought I had everything

When I held you close

I believed you were everything

That I would ever need

 

I wanted everything

Because I had nothing

So how was I to know

That there’s no such thing as everyhting

 

However much you have

You always want more

I have you now

But I need more than you

 

Your love fills me

Yet I am still empty

I realise that now

My heart is full of empty dreams

 

But who cares about everything?

When you are in my arms

All I want is you

So I have everything

 

Until I open my eyes

And see that I have nothing

When I find you are gone

I’ve lost everything.
