Alone In A Crowd

 

I am lonely

Although I am surrounded by people

I am silent

Though laughter is all around me

I stand out

But I blend into the background

I am different

 

They know I’m there

But they chose to ignore me

I am there

But not really there

My mind is running far away

To escape the brutal reality

Of being different
