Sky-Eyes

A young boy was walking through the woods. He knew this place so well. The woods stopped and opened out into a meadow he stepped out into it. He had secretly name this meadow 'The Field of Memories.' He looked up to a great waterfall before him. He smiled as he remembered her. That girl.
A little boy was running through a field. He stopped at a large waterfall staring up at it in awe. Up at the top he spotted a small white figure, and started to climb up a narrow path to the top. When he reached the summit the strong wind immediately made itself noticed, blowing his obsidian locks into his face. His wide red eyes took in the small creature before him. She had long black hair that framed her delicate face. The rest of her hair was a snowy white streaked with black tiger stripes.
"Are you a tigerling?" he asked the girl.
"No." she replied her eyes still on the sky.
"What's your name?" he asked. Determined to get some information out of her.
"I don't have a name." she replied.
"Well my name is Van Slander de Faunal. And I'm going to be a Dragonslayer." He stated proudly. The girl couldn't help but to turn and smile at his proud statement. He pulled back afraid that the sadness and loneliness held in her eyes would engulf him. Her eyes just seemed so vast and empty. They reminded him of the sky.
"I think I might have a name for you." Said Van.
"Really?" she asked hopeful.
"How about Sky-Eyes?" he said uncertain of her response.
"It's pretty thank you." Replied Sky-Eyes. Just then a strong gust came and blew them over the edge of the falls.
A tall figure emerged from the forest looking for his younger brother. He had red eyes like Vans' and silver blue hair. He saw a crumpled form lying still by the stream.
"Van." He cried running over to him. The boy had sprouted his wings in an effort to slow his descent. But the force on them was too much, and they had snapped. The man cradled the boy in his arms.
"Please Van wake up." He cried.
"Folken?" asked the boy his eyes snapping open.
"Folken where is Sky-Eyes?" He asked of his brother.
"There is nobody here but us." He replied. Van's heart sank as he realized that she may have landed in the river and it carried her off.
"Where did you get this?" asked Folken as he lightly touched and aquamarine locket strung around Van's neck.
But that was 11 years ago. Van is 15 now. Van spread his great wings and flew up to the top of the falls. He carefully removed the locket he always wore and opened it to see a sketch of her at the falls.
" I miss you Sky-Eyes." He whispered. Maybe he was imagining things but he thought he heard her voice saying.
"I miss you too."
