Chapter Four
G

etting his eyes open seemed to be a very difficult task. It was
painful. His head hurt and the consciousness brought many
other pains with it. When he finally got his eyes open, he felt
confused and dizzy, with the sensation of everything
surrounding him was moving up and down, kind of
rhythmic… and the air was different… sticky… or maybe it
was his own skin that felt that way. One thing he had for
sure: He did not know where he was.

The room was very small: Just the stretch bed he was
lying on, and a desk, in the other side of the room. But there
was a window " A round window" he thought " in a room like
this… Things get weirder each minute" Painfully he got sited
and looked trough the window, but the only things he could
see were sky and sea melting in the far away distance " so
that means, I'm in a ship… How did I get here?"

The sound of the seagulls and the waves brought him
memories of Asturia. There she was, wearing a borrowed
dress and looking gorgeous, making him realized that he felt
something about her.

"So, what do we have here?" The woman was watching
him careless from the door "He hasn't even noticed my
presence"

Van couldn't stop to fix his sight on that face, since he
was looking for the features of someone he knew and loved,
but he learned immediately she was not Hitomi. He felt
embarrassment for his way he looked the stranger.

Where Am I? - He finally asked, demanding as he was
used to, as the king he was. There was no answer. That
silence and the face of the woman told him she wouldn't
be a great help for him. "It seems to be… she doesn't
understand a word I say… I must be in the mystic moon
then… But why Isn't she here?"

Hey… Hello! Don't you speak English? Van heard the
sounds, but didn't understand. He had the fatal feeling
there was only one person in that world that was able to
understand him, and she wasn't here, to help him.

William took a look of the past day newspaper, smiled in
satisfaction and turned his executive chair to the "ceiling - to
- floor" window. That office was in the 20th floor, but even
the view wasn't that good, since everything in the landscape
were buildings… But William was able to see beauty in
unexpected ways.

He loved the way the windows of those buildings
reflected the life going on outside, and he admired the
artistic of their architectures above all. He would have given
all he possessed (and that was quite a lot) to be an
architect, But he knew very well he had no talent, and that,
he knew too, wasn't something he could buy.

No. His territory was exact Sciences. He liked them since
he knew them, love at first sight maybe, and he loved them
because they were totally contrary to Social sciences and
humanities… Exact sciences are ruled by laws, which are
based on axioms, and do not change without a reason " and
humanity…" he thought.

He loved the world, that's true but he had abandoned his
ideal of understanding humanity… It just seemed to be so
sad for him.

Sir - The secretary interrupted his contemplation without
care. She was used to it - We received a report, from
"The traveler"…

He didn't make a sound, or a move, as he didn't care or
wasn't even listening, but the woman continued

-It seems that a very strange phenomenon occurred in the
sky yesterday

At this two words "Strange phenomenon" couldn't stay
indifferent, and turned again to face the woman and give her
all his attention.

According with Doctor Vesta, they saw a luminous
phenomenon, like a ray of blue light descending from the
sky, and there were no signals of storms of any kind in
the surrounding area

 Is that all?

No sir, the report also says they've found a shipwrecked
person. They believe it may be related with the event…

Good, you're able to leave now, thank you very much.

The secretary left the room as quiet as she entered. As
soon as the big door was closed, William Stood up, and
walked through the office, that was larger than he or anyone
could ever need. The only sound he could hear thanks to the
fine wood of his office's door, was his own steps in the floor.

He reached the book shelve and took a box out of it,
handling it carefully, as a treasure. It was an old box, an
Antiquity with the shape of a book. He passed his hand by
the cover, feeling the old material and remembering his
grandmother, and the story she told him about that box.
William opened it slowly, and saw the Jewell that was inside.
"The city of the angels" He thought, with a gray shadow of
pain in his face, he smiled painfully and put everything in his
place again. Walked to his desk and talked by the
interphone

Beg, contact me with the captain of "The Traveler"

He sat again on his comfortable chair, and looked trough
the window once more… It had started to rain heavily. He
had so much to think about…
