Disclaimers: I don't own Escaflowne it belongs to all the companys that own it (duh if I owned Escaflowne you wouldn't be reading this fic beacuse I would be trying to get the subbed episodes on American TV and I wouldn't need this disclaimer)

Oh one more thing anything in italics indicates thought I haven't seen all of Escaflowne so bear with me but I've read alot of episode sypnosises.

This is the revision I went through and decided to add some stuff no major plot changes though enjoy!

Chapter Three: New Beginngs

"I feel the same way" repiled Van

Hitomi then sighed happily and leaned on Van then whispered "Van I love you"

"Hitomi I love you too and I have something to give you" said Van

Van reluctantly let Hitomi go as he pulled a small silver box out of his pocket.

"What is it" inquired Hitomi

Van smiled and pulled the gold necklace with the feather pendants out of the box and held it where Hitomi could see it.

"Van it's beautiful" exclaimed Hitomi as she examined the necklace

Van smiled knowing Hitomi would like it and fastened it around her neck. When he did this he unfastened the necklace that Hitomi had given him and showed her that beside the pink stone she had given him there was also a feather pendant identical to the one he had just given Hitomi. Van put his necklace back on and walked over to where Hitomi was standing admiring the necklace she had just been given.

"Here let me help you up" said Van as he helped Hitomi mount his horse.

"Thank you Van" replied Hitomi as she watched Van climb in front of her in the saddle.

They rode toward the castle in silence content with each others company both thinking about what would happen next. Soon the castle came into view and the outline of figure also came into view. Seeing the outline of a tail Van thought This can't be good Merle is going to be very upset.

Merle peered into the darkness watching for Vans return Where did he go now he never tells me anything she thought crossly. Merle jumped up happily when she saw the outline of a horse and two riders. This struck Merle as strange why are there two people on that horse she wondered. Merle shook her head and ran toward the horse set on getting some answers.

"Van there you are I was get...Hitomi is that you!" exclaimed Merle as she looked at the woman sitting in front of Van

"Yes it's me Merle" replied Hitomi as she got off the horse ran toward Merle

Merle wasn't sure how to react she was happy sad and angry at the same time. She couldn't deny she was happy to see Hitomi but she was also sad and angry that her old rival had returned. Merle knew in her heart that Van had always loved Hitomi and Hitomi loved him and he only loved her as a sister. Merle smiled a little when her and Hitomi hugged and exchanged pleasentries. Merle looked at Hitomi and saw this this was not the same 15yr old girl that she had once known but a woman with sholder length hair. Merle also noticed that Hitomi seemed more mature and graceful. Hitomi looked Merle over a saw that she wasn't the same jeleous mischiveous person she had once known. Merle was now taller and more mature but Hitomi couldn't help but think Merle still got into trouble. Van watched the two for a while then walked over to Hitomi and Merle. Hitomi and Van both noticed that the people they once knew had changed for the better, Van smiled as he wrapped his arm around Hitomi's slender waist and the three of them walked into the palace.

As Hitomi walked down th castle halls with Van she felt an all to familar feeling wash over her as she had a vision of Fanelia in ruins and a Ziabach floating fortress overhead. As Hitomi collaseped Van picked her up and carried her to the nearest guest room and laid her on the bed. My dear Hitomi what lies in store for Gaea now Van thought sadly as he left the room while Hitomi slowly woke up. Hitomi sighed when she woke up and began to play with the necklace Van had given her she could sense that there was something about it that made it very special aside from the fact it was a gift from Van. Thinking about the vision she had just had Hitomi merely brushed it off as a memory of the past the palace evoked. Hitomi then began to think about Van and her feelings for him I wish Yukari was here she would know what to do. Hitomi had just put the necklace back on when a familar light column appeared in her room depositing a very unhappy Yukari on the floor.

"Yu-u-kari is that you?" inquired Hitomi

Yukari groaned and stood up coming face to face with Hitomi. Fortunatly Yukari had a good sense of humor.

"So this is where you went Hitomi, so why am I here?" asked a confused Yukari

"Yukari to tell you the truth I'm not entirely sure I was thinking about va-- a how much I missed you and I wish you were here and umm your here" said an equally confused Hitomi

Hitomi told Yukari about Gaea and that she was in Fanelia the palace to be exact. Hitomi went into a detailed account of when she came to Gaea the last time only ommiting her feelings for Van. Yukari listened intently still stunned that she was on a different planet.

"Hitomi what do you mean this is another planet" asked Yukari

"I'm sure" responed Hitmoi

At this point Yukari put her head in her hands and started to try and reassure herself that this was just a horrible dream.

"Wake up Yukari this isn't possible, there is no such thing as Gaea this is just a dream a very messed up dream." whispered Yukari to herself

"No Yukari this is not a dream" said Hitomi calmly

Merle walked down the long hall looking for Hitomi's room. Merle came to the door and knocked on it.

"Hitomi are you in ther?" asked Merle as she continued knocking

"Yes Merle come in" said Hitomi

As Merle walked in the room Yukari shreiked and ran as far away as she could from the cat human.

"What's her problem?" asked Merle

"Merle this is Yukari she is from the Earth or the Mystic moon rather and like I explain animal people do not exist there." said Hitomi as she reassured Yukari that it was okay to come out of the closet.

Merle and Yukari started to get to know each other as Van walked into the room.

"Van I would like to introduce to you Yukari my friend Yukari this is Van" said Hitomi

"It's a pleasure to meet you Yukari" replied Van as he looked at the girl who had just appeared in Hitomi's room.

"It is nice to meet you too" said Yukari as she looked Van over.

A slight smile that could easily go unnoticed appeared on Yukari's face as she saw how Van and Hitomi looked at each other, This would explain why I heard so much about him from Hitomi, this is the man she met that she had been talking about these years. Van walked over to Yukari and offered her the room next to Hitomi's to stay in for the night for it was getting very late. Yukari walked into the next room and could hear muffled voices as Van and Hitomi talked in the next room.

"Van I think that these pendants can call the light column because right before Yukari appeared I was holding the pendant and wishing she was here so I could ask her about y..umm talk to her."replied an embarrsed Hitomi Baka she thought to herself.

"I think your right let's test it, I'll go the the other part of the castle and you try to come to me okay?" asked Van

"Sounds great you get going and in two minutes I'll try to get to you so you can get a fair distance away" replied Hitomi

"Right" said Van as he walked out of the door.

Two minutes later Hitomi took out her new pendant and held it in her hands please take me to Van she thought and was soon surrounded by a familiar white light. Van stood out in the hall in another wing of the palace and was about to go back to Hitomi's room when a colomn of light appeared in front of him leaving behind a happy Hitomi.

"Van it worked these pendants have the ability to call the light colomns" exclaimed a happy Hitomi Maybe now I can visit my world Hitomi mused.

Van simply smiled and hugged Hitomi tightly.

"Hitomi I want to ask you something" said Van nervously

"What Van" asked Hitomi

"Hitomi I love you and you are the most precious thing to me will you stay here with me in Fanelia as my wife?" Van nearly collasped as Hitomi opened her mouth then closed it several times rejecting a few possible answers finally she began to speak

"Yes Van I will stay with you as your wife" said Hitomi as she smiled and laid her head on his chest I thought you would never ask

They walked back to Hitomi's room together and sat down on the bed and talked for hours till they both finally fell asleep. Right before Van went to his room and started to sleep he thought I'll tell everyone tommorrow morning

That's part three I worked so hard to write Hitomi and Van together I've wanted too I just needed the chance. ^_^ Ideas are greatly appreciated this chapter might not have been as good but I wanted to get it out because chapter 4 might not be released for a while do to the evil named school. (insert dramatic music here) If enough people want chap 4 goes up well Ja ne!
