Hitomi shivered when she walked out of the dormatory and began to walk around campus trying to clear her mind of thoughts of Van. She sighed when she got to the track and thought about the first time she saw Van when he fought the dragon. Hitomi walked over to the track and got into position deciding to run a little for fun. One lap around the track just for fun Hitomi thought. Concentrating she could hear the sound of the gun in her head and she took off flying down the track. She stopped after she ran about half a lap feeling uneasy for some reason. Hitomi looked around but saw nothing that would explain her uneasiness. Hitomi walked over to a lone tree beside the track and sat down under it's branches. When she sat down she felt something in her pocket, standing up she pulled the feather Van had given her out of her pocket. That's strange I put it away before I left my room... Hitomi gasped when the feather started to glow with a pure white light This can't be good... Hitomi told herself.Suddenly the area was iluminated by a bright white light. Yukari knocked on the door to Hitomi's room and became worried when there was no answer.Disclaimers: I don't own Escaflowne it belongs to all the companys that own it (duh if I owned Escaflowne you wouldn't be reading this fic beacuse I would be trying to get the subbed episodes on American TV and I wouldn't need this disclaimer)
Oh one more thing anything in italics indicates thought I haven't seen all of Escaflowne so bear with me but I've read alot of episode sypnosises.
Chapter Two: Reunion
Yukari was beginng to get worried Hitomi never went out at night without telling her especially this late. Yukari walked out of the dormatory and began to wander around campus looking for Hitomi figuring she probably didn't leave the campus because she didn't have a car. Yukari walked toward the track and saw the light and ran towards it seeing Hitomi in the center of it.
"Yukari tell my parents that I've gone back they'll understand" cried Hitomi as the light surrounded her.
"Hitomi gone back where" asked Yukari in confusion a fear

Van sat in his study reviewing the reports on the rebuilding of Fanelia it had been four years since they started but rebuilding an entire kingdom is no easy task. Flipping through the long and boring reports on how many buildings were finished and lists of materials required to restore the rest of the kingdom Van was getting quite bored. He got up from his chair and started to take a walk in the palaces beatutiful gardens. Van walked for a while before feeling an odd warmth on his chest. Confused her took off the necklace and held it in his hands observing the warmth and glow it had just now aquired. What can this mean, is Hitomi in trouble... a small voice in the back of his head told him that it meant that Hitomi was coming back but he dissmissed it as wishfull thinking and started to worry about Hitomi convinced that the pendant was trying to tell him that she was in trouble. Van walked back to his study and began to think about the pendant again pacing restlessly like a tiger. After reaching no conclusions he sat down and tryed to concentrate on the reports. Standing up Van gave up on the reports and began to walk around the castle and soon found himself in a desserted wing. Van walked down the hall a ways till he came to a great set of doors. Smiling to himself he thought this is where mom and dad's room was as he opened the door and walked in. Miracleously this part of the castle took barely any damage when Zaibach attacked and had basicly hadn't been changed since Varie Fannel's dissappearence. Walking into the dusty room Van ran his fingers over the desk his mother had loved. Mom used to write letters at this desk or stories he thought to himself. He sat down in the old chair and played with a pen that had been left on the desk. Looking up from the desk Van saw a white glow radiating from a small silver box on his mothers dresser. Walking over to the dresser Van picked up the small silver box and slowly opened the old tarnished silver box. When he looked into the box Van took out a stunning necklace with two pendants on it both shape like feathers they look exactly like the feather I gave Hitomi Van mused. The oendants were made of some type of white stone but the stone was unlike any Van had seen before. Van carefully turned the necklace over in his hands examining the necklace. Hitomi would love this, I'll give it to her when I see her again... Van thought to himself. He was awakened from his daydream when the pendant Hitomi had given him and the pendants he had just found began to shake and bathe the room in a pinkish white light.

Hitomi sighed as the light began to lift her off the ground and saw that Yukari was scared.
"Don't worry Yukari my mom will explain" cried Hitomi as she and the light vanished from sight.
"Hitomi I hope your okay..." whispered Yukari as she stared at the loney night sky

Van ran out into the garden seeing a familar light coloumn appear in the forest in the outskirts of the palace. Van then ran to the stables and quickly tacked up a horse and rode off toward the forest as quickly as possible.

Hitomi looked around where she landed and began to cry when she saw that it was all unfamilar. Oh great now what I'm stuck out here and I have no idea where I am. Hitomi sighed as she began to walk around the forest looking for anything familar. She stopped suddenly when she heard the sound of hoofbeats in the distance and then ran behind a tree to try and see the rider before they saw her.

Van held out the pendant Hitomi had given him and had been using it to try and locate Hitomi. Soon the pendant had started to glow even brighter, I must be near he thought.

Hitomi saw the pink glow through the trees and ran out from behind the tree. Could it be, yes it is! Hitomi ran toward the light and soon found herself face to face with a horse and its rider.

Van looked down and saw Hitomi. Van jumped off the horse and ran toward her... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They ran toward each other and fell into each others arms..............
