This is my first attempt at a fic be nice when you review!

Disclaimers: I don't own Escaflowne it belongs to all the companys that own it (duh if I owned Escaflowne you wouldn't be reading this fic beacuse I would be trying to get the subbed episodes on American TV and I wouldn't need this disclaimer)

Oh one more thing anything in italics indicates thought I haven't seen all of Escaflowne so bear with me but I've read alot of episode sypnosises.

Chapter One: Longing


Hitomi sighed as she absent mindedly twirled a soft white feather in her hands. She stared at the night sky as if searching for Gaea in the endless blanket of stars. Giving up her futile search she turned to the feather she had in her hands. She sighed and examined it closely and remembered the first time she saw Van's wings.Van, thinking of him she felt a twinge of pain, it had been four years since she left Gaea. She reminicesed for a moment the slapped herself mentally Baka your in college and working to get a degree he doesn't love you any more than a friend. Even though she told herself this deep down she knew it wasn't true and Van really did love her and she loved him. Getting up from her desk she carefully put the feather in it's box in the desk drawer and left the dormatory to get some fresh air.

Van stared out the window at the Mystic moon and fingered the pendant around his neck. He gazed longingly at the Mystic moon as if he could see her from his window. I wish I could just see her again, if only...... He sighed and reflected on all the time Hitomi and him spent together. Damn why didn't I just tell her I loved her she probably hates me now He took off the pendant that Hitomi had given him and looked at it intently as if trying to get it to give up it secrets to him. Putting the necklace back on he resumed staring at the Mystic moon. Merle poked her head in Van's room only to find him staring out the window He's thinking of HER again why can't he just get over it. Merle shook her head in disgust and went down to the kitchen to find something to eat.


Well that's it for now if I get enough positive reviews I'll put up part two if not well...we can forget I ever attempted writing fanfiction. ^_^ Remember go easy on critism and stuff, critism is welcome as long as your nice about it! Oh ya and leave spelling mistakes out of the reviews unless they are important!
