From: Jessica Hernandez-Loera [email protected] Date: Wed Jan 3, 2001 3:24pm Subject: " The new kid" part 21 Hi. I am so sorry I didn't post this part up sooner. Its just that my brother bought me FF9 and I spent all my free time playing it. Finally after beating it, I got Chrono Cross and spent all my free time (again) playing it. Then there was also homework, tests, etc. I have been so busy. To top it all off, the computers at school got a virus and I couldn't write the next part. But finally, I decided to post up the next part. I also decided to write this part in a new format since I spent some time during christmas vacation practicing my writing and typing. Please enjoy it and review. Disclaimer: I don't own Escaflowne but I do own any new characters. With regret in her eyes, Hitomi looked up at Van. "Did I do the right thing?" Van smiled at Hitomi and gave her a loving hug. "Of course. Why should you sacrifice your love for me just because Yukari is in love with me. I think you did do the right thing. You deserve happiness Hitomi." "I'm going to have to find a way for Yukari to forgive me. I don't want her to hate me forever." Van let go of Hitomi and took her hand. With the sun in the sky, lending its warmth to them, Van guided Hitomi home. "If Yukari is in fact a good friend, she won't have any grudge against you. I'm sure everything will be fine." ******************************************** Amano took Yukari home while the wind softly blowed. Amano had always had something for Yukari, but he never imagined that she liked Van. But he was glad that her infatuation with him was over. Amano was interupted from his thoughts by Yukari. As he was taking her home, he noticed that she began to shiver. Amano galiantly took off his coat and placed around Yukari. She looked up at him and smiled, causing Amano to blush. His blush deepened when Yukari snuggled closer to him, obviously looking for warmth. What he didn't imagine was that she was looking for the warmth in his heart. ******************************************** The next day: As the sun beat its rays down and the wind softly blowed to give its coolness from the hot rays of ther sun, Hitomi walked to school alone. Van promised to walk with her but his mother called in and told her that he had come down with the flu. Hitomi actually felt guilty for going to school and leaving Van sick, but she knew that his mom would take care of him. The least Hitomi could do was go to his house after school and give him flowers. "Hey Hitomi!" someone called off in the distance. Hitomi knew who it was but was puzzled at why that person sounded so cheery and happy to see her.She turned around to find a happy Yukari running up to him. "H-hey Yukari." When Yukari reached Hitomi, she hugged her tenderly. "I want to thank you for showing me that I can't force Van to love me. And I also want to thank you because if it weren't for you, Amano and I wouldn't be together." Hitomi pulled away in amazement. "You and Amano are dating?" Yukari nodded her head. "Yesterday he talked to me and convinced me that you and Van being together was actually beneficial. Also, that I can'tr force Van to love me when he clearly loves you." Hitomi smiled at Yukari to show Yukari that there were no hard feelings. Hitomi was glad that Yukari was her old self again. "I'm glad you finally found someone for yourself." Yukari turned around. "Let's go. I don't want to be late for class." Hitomi ran after Yukari, both laughing so loud that the other students looked at them as though they had gone mad. I have to stop now because I've been kicked off. But I promise to have the epilogue out ASAP. Review and bye.
