The Vision of Escaflowne AU Author:Jessica Hernandez-Loera [email protected] Part 3a and 3b Sorry, I wanted to write part 3 but I know I won't be able to finish it so this is only part 3A. Enjoy! Disclaimer: I don't own Escaflowne but I do own any character that appears in my fanfic that didn't appear in the series. ' Where am I?' Van wondered as he opened his eyes. He tried siitng up but found it kind of difficult. " You're finally awake huh?" he heard someone say not to far away from him. Van looked towards the owner of the voice and saw the girl who appeared at his school. Van gasped as he saw her. She had on the most beautiful gown he had ever seen. It was green, to math her eyes, and white. It was very elegant with little gold stars all over the it. On her head was a simple tiara with one heart shaped ruby in the middle. Van blushed at the sight of her. He clicked back to reality once he remembered what happened." Where am I?" Hitomi smiled a smile that made Van blush." You're in Fanelia. This is the castle of the royal family." " Fanelia? Where on Earth is that?" Van asked. His bed was next to the window and when he gazed at the sky, he gasped. Right there, hanging in the sky with its partner the moon, was Earth." What is Earth doing in the sky?! How come I can see it?! Aren't we on Earth?!" Hitomi walked over to the window to see why Van was freaking out. She looked up at Earth." That's the Mystic Moon. Why do you call it Earth?" Van opened his mouth to answer but was interupted." Leave him alone sister. He seems very tired. You should let him rest." Van looked towards the door where the voice had come from and discovered that it belonged to a man. He was tall, with silvery hair that was spiked in front. His eyes were red and skin creamy, like his Hitomi's. " I'm sorry brother. I was just curious," Hitomi answered him as she bowed. " Well, a princess shouldn't be so curious. You should always maintain manners." " Princess!?!" Van yelled. The man walked up and stood next to Van's bed." Yes. This is Hitomi Fanel, Princess of Fanelia and my sister. And I am Folken Fanel, prince of Fanelia and future king." Van was shocked. He stared wide eyed at Hitomi which caused her to blush. Hitomi bowed again." Well, if you'll both excuse me. I need to go see mother." She departed from the room. " You'll need to forgive my sister. She went off on a dragon hunt by herself. It's a rather long story and I'm sure you don't want to hear it." Van calmed down." I do want to hear it." Folken smiled and nodded." You see, here in Fanelia, the dragons and the humans live together in peace. That peace was broken one day when Kiro killed another one of his fellow dragons. He was a dragon himself and the price for killing another of your own kind is death. I was going to go after him when he escaped but Hitomi beat me to it. She dissapeared the next day and took some armor, a sword, and some food. After she left, our mother got a little sick. Now that she knows that Hitomi is back, she's feeling much better. Anyways, now she returned and told us that she succeded in killing Kiro." " Wait a minute. You say that you live here with the dragons in peace. Do you have some way of communicating with them?" Van asked. " Yes. We can speak to the dragons with our minds. Why?" " That would explain why I sensed that Hitomi was telepathically talkiing to the dragon. She was communicating with him." Folken nodded." Yes." He turned around to leave but before he did he glanced at Van from behind his shoulder." The servents will attend to you. Once they are done, come downstairs. Mother and Father would like to meet you and ask questions." Then he was gone. Well there is part of part 3. I'll have the rest out later. Please review. Bye! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hey all you out there who are enjoying my fic. Here's the rest of part 3. Enjoy! Disclaimer: I don't own Escaflowne but I do own any characters that appear in my fanfic that don't appear in the series. Once the servants had finished attending Van, he was finally ready to see the King and Queen. Van was dressed in a knights suit. It was a blue silky shirt with black pants. Van felt rather silly wearing these clothes since he was so used to wearing his regular school uniform. Hitomi appeared out of nowhere in a new dress that was even more elegant than the last. It was blue, probably to match Van's shirt, and like the other one, it had little stars all over it. " Hey. Are you nervous about meeting my parents?" Hitomi asked. Van raised and eyebrow." Is there any reason I should be?" " No. I was just curious." Finally, they entered a room that was probably as big as Van's house back on Earth. It had a long rug that led up to four chairs. The two in the middle were big while the other two off to the side were smaller. On the wall in the back was a symbol. It was of a unicorn. Trumpets sounded and the people in the room stood still and kept quiet. " Anounncing his royal majesty, Goau Fanel, King of Fanelia!" someone off int the distance shouted. Out off to the side, appeared a man with black unruly hair, and a black mustache. He walked over to the four chairs and sat in one of the big ones. " And introducing her royal majesty, Varie Fanel, Queen of Fanelia!" As the introduction was over, a woman with long black hair that reached the floor, came out and sat down next to the man. Hitomi nudged Van to walk up and bow. Van did as told and bowed in front of the king and queen. " First of all," said the king, " I would like you to forgive our daughter Hitomi. She shouldn't have been going off on her own in the first place." He turned towards Hitomi." Dear, say your sorry to him." Hitomi blushed at the way she was being treated but she listened to her father anyway. She bowed in front of Van." I'm sorry for involving you in MY quest to kill Kiro. I shouldn't have involved you." " It's okay your majesty. She didn't involve me actually. I was the one who got in the way," Van commented, trying to defend her. Hitomi realized this and smiled at him. She mouthed a thank you. " Still, she disobeyed her mother and I. She needs to be punished for her behavior," the king ordered. Van didn't know what to say or do but he knew he couldn't argue with royalty. " Van," said the queen, " Would you tell us where you are from? Our daughter never got the chance to." Van looked at Hitomi. She had a look that said it was okay to tell the truth. Van turned back to the king and queen." Your majesties, I am from you I guess you call the Mystic Moon." The king and Queen gasped, looked at each other, then began to laugh quietly. " You are joking, right?" the king asked. When the king saw the look on Van's face he knew that Van wasn't joking." You're quite serious I see." " I am totally serious your majsety." The king looked at Van a little while before he nodded." Well then, we'll need to figure out some way to get you home." Van was going to thank him when someone came rushing through the two big doors. He looked rather old with his white hair and wrinkly skin. Although he looked old, he also looked rather srtong for someone his age. He also had a scar over his left eye. The scar was so big that the man couldn't even open his eye it seemed. " Your majesty! I have some news! Someone is attacking Fanelia!" the man shouted. The king and queen rose." Are you sure?" Goau asked. " Yes your majesty. I am not sure who it is because somehow the enemy has made themselves undetectable." The king went wide-eyed." B-but that's impossible! An invisible enemy?!" " Yes. I have already sent troops to attack them. I don't know how much longer we can hold them off though. Without being able to see them we can't attack them." " Alright. I will go and join the fight." The king turned to his wife." Take Hitomi and Van to a safe place. Folken and I will see to it that these enemies are stopped." " Alright. Please be careful." The king smiled at her then he went off running. The queen turned towards Van and gasped." Hitomi, where is she?!" Van looked all around but discovered that she was not in the room. Who knows how long she had been gone. " We need to find her!" the queen shouted." Guards!" In a matter of moments two guards appeared." Find my daughter! I have no idea where she has gone to," the queen ordered. The guards listened and ran off to look for her. " Van, please come with me. I need to get you to a safe place." Van nodded and followed her through the castle. Once they reached the room that would keep them safe, they heard loud footsteps not to far away. Van ran towards the window and gasped. Out in the distance he saw the exact same giant that he saw in his dream. It was fighting the exact same red giants that were in his dream. The queen caught him staring." That's Escaflowne. My husband is fighting with it. Do you have guymelefs on the Mystic Moon?" Van shook his head." No, I've never seen anything like it." Silence hung in the air for a couple of seconds." Well, don't worry. I'm sure my husband will get rid of those invisible enemies." Van turned away from the window to look at her." What about your daughter Hitomi? Do you think they'll find her?" Van didn't mean to sound so untrusting, it was just that he was worried about her. It was strange, although he hadn't known her for very long, he still felt like they were the best of friends. " Of course they'll find her. I trust my soldiers." Van looked sad as he turned to look out the window again. A noise was heard coming off from the distance and Van began to get scared. " What is that?" Van asked. " Someone must have found the secret hiding place. That's not possible though. Nobody except the royal family knows about this place." The sound got louder and louder until it was right outside the door. The knob began to turn slowly until the door was opened completly. In the door frame stood a little catgirl with shoulder length pink hair and and orange dress. " Your majesty!" the catgirl shouted. The queen's face lit up." Merle! You found us! I'm so glad your alright!" Merle ran and hugged the queen." Some guards found me napping and told me about the attack. I quickly knew where you would be." The queen leaned away from Merle." Did they find Hitomi yet?" Merle's face turned sad." No, there's no sign of her yet. The soldiers have the intuition that Hitomi is dead." That caused the queen to become hysterical." No! It's not true! Hitomi is alive! I just know it!" She broke down and began to cry on Merle. Van couldn't believe what he had just herad. Hitomi had to be alive. She just had to be. Merle turned to look at Van." Who are you?" " My name is Van Kanzaki. I come from the MYstic Moon." The catgirl went wide-eyed. More loud noises could be heard from off in the distance. Van ran to check what was going on. Outside, he saw the big white giant turn into a flying dragon. Van gasped as he saw the pilot of the big giant. It was none other than Hitomi. I'm going to stop here because my back hurts from leaning over the computer. Sorry, I'll have part 4 up probably by Monday at least. I'll also have the next chapter of " The new kid" up by that time. Please be patient. Also, please review and I'll see all of you later. Quote from fanfiction.net:" Be a resonsible reader and write a review." (c) 2000 Jessica Hernandez-Loera
