Steel Panthers* Building
the Bastogne, Battle of the Bulge,
'Battlefield.' |
|
| |
Working
with the various game map editors we can now setup an Historical |
|
| |
Battlefield, using Topological,
Geographic Maps and Road Maps, to base the |
|
| |
SP Battle Maps,
to an accuracy within 40 to 50 meters. Since the editors span |
|
| |
the entire set of
SP games from SP2/3 to SPWAW, and on to SPMBT-SPWW2; |
|
| |
we shall as well
be able to produce game maps for all 5 games simultaneously. |
|
| |
This task can be
accomplished by working from a single set of bitmap images. |
|
| |
Using colors
compatible with each of the games in this way, we shall be able to |
|
| |
complete the work
in a mere fraction of the time it would have taken to complete |
|
| |
such a task,
working from within the game's own map editor, solely. As well, by |
|
| |
judiciously
choosing our SP Map templates; overlapping battlefield sections; |
|
| |
combined with the
use of the scenario editors, we will as well be able to rotate |
|
| |
battlefield
sections, to allow for battles along axis, other than the West to East. |
|
| |
The flexibility
of using bitmaps to derive SP Battle Maps will also allow for rolling |
|
| |
battles -
engagements that have advances or expanding battle lines that do not |
|
| |
exceed 100 hexes,
or more. Hence consecutive battles can be quickly drawn up, |
|
| |
with only small
changes to the SP Battle Maps. |
