Sequana have been playing together since late july 2001 when they were asked to put on a performance for a school summer concert. The band all went to the same school, apart from tom who originally went to another local school. They were originally called "plaCid", though because there was already a band called "plaCid", they had to change the name. This is when sequana came about. Whilst the band were between names, stuart decided that the name of his dads company would do for a temporary name but they seem to have stuck with it. In July 2001, they put on a performance at school playing two crappy covers, smells like teen spirit - Nirvana, and Californication - the Chilli's. When they first formed, the band consisted of 5 members:
Charlie Wright, Adam Suttil, Stuart Coleman, Zac Bishop, and Alex Kuligowski. Then, in february 2002, Alex left the band leaving them with Charlie as lead vocalist/rythym guitarist, Zac as bassist, adam as Lead Guitarist and Stuart as Drummer. The band scrapped playing covers but didnt really do much for ages, apart from sitting around smoking copius amounts of skunk contemplating writing songs.
In July 2002, Tom Hales joined the band to create the original size of 5. He now acts as a lead guitarist, and mouse as rythym adding a style with influences ranging from led zeplin to propaghandi thats explosive and ear-drum-burstingly powerful.
sequana practise in stu's shed every now and again, and have turned it into a little studio. sequana dont really practise enough and at the moment, cant really practise much more, but hopefully once their qualifications are over hopefully you will be hearing MUSIC from sequana and not just a loud blur of distorted guitars and fuck loads of drums...!!
