Powercinema software
Powercinema software 4 picture

Cyberlink has a fairly good tech support team, they didn't get me all my answers. Though I've been working with them to solve some issues that other people may have been facing. Some of the issues are different between Powercinema 3.0 and 4.0. One problem that has persististed is that I have sound crackling after switching channels for about 3 to 5 seconds which I believe may be a conflict between hardware and software caused by the Audigy 2 sound card. After upgrading to 4.0 I found I was having very long load times of one minute to start any part of the program. I solved this issue and reported it to tech support by changing my display settings from 2D mode to 3D mode. Another flaw that I have not yet reported is when watching TV and than shifting focus by using the hotkeys on my keyoboard to open a program such as Outlook express than minimizing the PowerCinema4 I find for some reason it seems to enable the instant replay. I believe this is the case because scenes on TV including sounds replay when minimized and even when shifting focus back to PowerCinema4. The easy fix is to press the last channel button on the remote and the TV will shift back to real-time TV.

*Another issue which is believed to be the falt of the TV card itself is slow TV channel changing. There is a 2 second delay when changing from one channel to another, it's not what I would call a major issue but when you have many channels to surf, this issue can become very irritating.

My gripe with the PowerCinema DVD player software is the lack of power options such as quality smart stretch options for allowing full screen or near full screen picture with certain movie formats. Other options I would like to see is to choice auto play or disable auto play. Not everyone wants to see start a movie every time they put a disk in or use the PowerCinema player. If you have a newer PowerDVD 6.0 or 7.0 most advanced computer users would not want to use the current version of the powerCinema DVD player software. I contacted Cyber link about all those other concerns and are looking into things to allow for the improvement if taken to be passed on to the future release of PowerCinema 5. At this time I personally use InterVideo WinDVD 7 which actually works wonderfully with the remote control provided with the Sapphire ThreatriX TV card.

The one very nice thing about Cyber link is they allow trial software downloads of nearly all if not all of their software including PowerCinema 4.0 and even the brand new PowerDVD 7.0.
NOTE: The one nice thing about the Sapphire TheatriX TV tuner card is that you are not limited to the PowerCinema software. If you chose you could use Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 or other software to find out what works and what doesn't work for you. I have not tested Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 on this card but other people found that their theatre 550 pro card worked wonderfully with it. I used Beyond TV 4 and would not recommend it; the program doesn't work nearly as well as PowerCinema. Beyond TV 4 resulted in a small decrease in image quality and it's setup is not as easy to use as PowerCinema.
