Glossary

Speed:

A specific distance traveled, (in Meters) in a specific amount of time in Seconds).

Velocity:

As Above (A specific distance traveled, (in Meters) in a specific amount of time in Seconds), but in a specific direction, meaning when there is a place told (eg..Malmö) it is velocity.

Acceleration:

A change in velocity (M/S) over a specific amount of time (S) in a specific direction.

Potential Energy:

Potential energy is the energy stored in an object, often standing still. So even though an object is standing still anywhere, it has potential energy.

The formula or potential energy:

Potential energy = mass x gravity x objects height from floor

Kinetic Energy:

Kinetic energy, is the energy that is being used, when an object is moving.
This is the formula for kinetic energy:

Kinetic energy = mass x velocity2 / 2

By observing both the formulae for the energies, you've probably noticed that, kinetic energy is obviously affected by the potential energy. In practical life we could notice this, by observing my lab. When the height of the trolley is increased, the number mass and gravity is being multiplied with, will increase, causing the kinetic energy increasing.

Force:

Forces make things happen to objects such, as changing their movement, or changing their shape. Forces can't be seen any were, what we see, are just some effects of forces. Some causes of forces on objects are, Pushing, pulling, turning, squeezing, stretching and twisting.
