Another spew story
submitted 9/30/99
Well, it seems that one day while driving back from sixth grade camp (during the days of hot dogs and beans on Friday for lunch), I had a student start to get sick. Well I tried to pull over and help, but she spewed all over her and the girl she was sitting with. It gets better. The next thing I know all 35 students are spewing, both from the heat and the previously mentioned lunch. I thought about it for about one second, pulled into the Fire Station that used to be in Rincon Indian Reservation and stopped the bus. I got all the students off the bus and had them sitting in the shade to help get some air. I took stock of the situation and then got a hold of one the smaller fire hoses, generously donated by the volunteer fire crew, and hosed out the bus. After the students got back on, and yes they felt better, we went on to school. When I arrived, I opened the luggage bay and to my horror found that all the luggage was soaked from the rinse job. Thinking I was about to lose it, I stepped back and asked the parents to unload the bus because my back was hurting (yeah right). Well they unloaded the bus and I left very quickly.
