OUR WHOLE ECONOMY IS A RIP-OFF.

If it we weren't ripping each other off all the time, the whole system would

probably collapse. If the auto mechanic doesn't overcharge you for a

simple repair, he can't go to the bar later so he can overpay the bartender for

a $6 drink that's 80% water and 20% vodka. Then the bar owner won't be

able to pay the credit card company the $30 late fee for being 2 days

late with his payment, even though the bank didn't do any work to earn

the $30. Then the president of the bank can't afford to go to a restaurant

and pay hundreds of dollars for a meal which back in the kitchen spent

more time on the floor than on a stove. Therefore, the restaurant owner wouldn't

be able to buy that new luxury sedan he paid $50,000 for but really cost $10,000

to make. Then the car salesman won't have his commission with which

he would buy cocaine from a street dealer who charges him $100 for a product

that, before a little processing, basically comes from the ground. And the owner

of the car dealership that sold the $50,000 car? Well, after he's paid the salesman

his pitiful commission, he keeps a ton of money with which he'll pay for a motel room

where he'll cheat on his 4th wife with a woman who says she loves him but only wants

his money. And so on. The rip-off system usually ends up benefiting the same

small group of people: the rich. Although the rich do get ripped off a lot (they

have to be; the system can be surprisingly impartial), they're the ultimate

beneficiaries. Everyone else gets the shaft...unless you can figure out a way to break

into the rip-off economy and make it work for you. I'm still trying.

OR...we could try to organize society in a way in which everyone benefits fairly

and contributes equally...

...

AHHH-HA-HA-HA-HAAAA!!!! YEAH, RIGHT! THAT'LL HAPPEN! AHHA-HA-HA-HAAA!!!

HA-HA-HA-HAAAA!!! Oh, man, I almost puked there...
