Exploits of Empire

What is Exploits of Empire

Exploits of Empire (short form EOE) is a table-top strategy game using dice and tape measurers and based on Lego models. Most models are either refitted sets or creations from scratch. There are three major elements in most EOE games; politics, economics, and military. Each is linked to eachother. When actually playing the games, considerations need to include armies, fleets, and cities.

EOE has been played in some form or another since 1989. It largely focuses on fleets, but actions on land are common. Politics and economics also play thier part in governing and funding the growth of an empire. In a broader sense, EOE is about creating and running an empire. You are responsible for all the people under your control.

EOE reflects a long period of historical time. It started in the Age of Sail, with Kingston. As the real years progressed,EOE evolved from wooden sailing ships, to iron battleships, and eventually to space. The Original EOE ended in the year 3000 with the fall of Kingston. EOE II and its expansion focus on the 10 years before that, with very simplified gameplay and rules. The final installment, EOE III: War at Sea pits EOE players against eachother with wooden sailing ships.

The game has progressed over a long period of time and has taken various forms. However, when one plays the game long enough, they can honestly say they learned more about the real world around them from it.
