Why I Write
What can I say that already hasn't been said first, and better?
Shouldn't someone know why they do something?
I wish I did.
If you really think on it, there isn't an answer for everything.
I'm good with words.
I have a vivid mind.
But why do I write, and why is it poetry?
Poetry is music without song.
Sometimes it has a beat.
Other times, it is more random, like putting your head or heart onto paper.
But why do I write?  Want to know?
It is simple really.
I write because I always have something to say.
I am never without words.
I can fill the blanks for everyone.
Yeah.  That is why I write.
I can speak for those who can't.
Be it because they are muted, ignorant, or because they don't know what to say.
I speak for those who want to be heard.

**Note - I wrote this for someone who taught me everything about myself.  Why I do a lot of things I do.  He has helped me, come hell or high water.  And he always will.  I realize now who I credit my inspiration to.  And Nathan, know that my inspiration has always been, and will always be you.  I write my best works when I think of you.  The happy, the sad, the angered.  It isn't becuase you caused the moods.  It is because you helped me through them.  You were the only person who held my hand when I needed it.  Sometimes I didn't ask.  I thought I could do it myself.  Thank you Nathan.  And I love you. **
