Final Fantasy X-2? Good or Bad? By: Jesse (Expertise626) Yes, I'm very sure you heard. Squaresoft is making yet another Final Fantasy. But wait, Final Fantasy 10? Number 2? Square is attempting something never done before to a Final Fantasy, making a DIRECT sequel. It takes place a little after Final Fantasy 10. I know what you are thinking, "Why in their right minds would they want to create a direct sequel?" 1) Let's face it, Final Fantasy 10's ending left the fans wanting. (Even me) 2) Wouldn't it be cool to see a Spira where machina was allowed? 3) I have also heard that Square might be running low on ideas. 4) Square has been trying to attempt other things lately. The Bouncer was probably their first Beat em' up action game. (Not to be confused with a fighting game) "So what the heck? Let's make a direct sequel to Final Fantasy!" This feat may come as a surprise to some hardcore Final Fantasy fans. There are usually 2 factors, is it a Good or a Bad idea? It might be good because FFX-2 might tie up the story of Spira. It will most likely leave fans satisfied and ready for the next Final Fantasy. It might be bad because, people might not purchase it for FFX-2 is different than what people are used to in a Final Fantasy, one game that leaves people in awe so they can figure out the story themselves. Another reason it's a bad idea is because Square ruined Yuna's innocent image. Now she is supposedly hardcore and worst of all, she wields Dual Handguns. (Not THOSE, pervert) I have also heard Square is coming out with 2 versions of Final Fantasy 10-2, the Yuna version and the Rikku version. (Kind of like Pokemon Red and Blue) This is also very original in it's own right. Again, Squaresoft is exploring new ways to appeal to video gamers. It could be a money making scheme for hardcore gamers who cringe if they don't get both. So Square is making $100 off of 1 fan. Clever. Well, these days Squaresoft is exploring new grounds to appeal to fans. The only question is, will they sell?
