I was welcomed as a newly made SiteFights Fairy by the Original DFairy on Sep. 4 1998, and I chose Fairy NightStar as my Fairy name. After dusting and so forth for a few weeks I was given my Official Wings by DFairy Star on Sep. 27th 1998. I just so happened to have joined the SiteFights during the time DFairy was stepping down from her rein and DFairy Star was rising up to clam the Fairy Throne. (Those were the day's lol) Anyway I was being both a Fairy for the StarFighters while also fighting my old site, NovaStar's Galaxy, with them. (But that's another story)
Now during this time DFairy Star wanted to make some improvements on the Fairies pages and was looking for new ideas. I myself was looking for a way to make a name for myself within the SiteFights. I noticed one day while looking though the Fairies Realm that we didn't have an Adoptions when most everyone else at the time did. I got up the nerve and e-mailed DFairy Star and asked her if I could help in creating a Fairy Adoption for the Fairies Realm. She thought it was a great idea so I sent her a few images that I had of a fairy (in many different shades and colors) that I had tweaked long ago in some forgotten program that was popular in the day.
DFairy Star liked them but said she had seen the image all over the web and thought we should try to find image's that were more original. So I took a few days and searched the web for fairy .gifs or .jpegs trying to find Fairy Image's that I had never seen before or had seldom seen. Yet again DFairy Star said they just weren't what she had in mind for the SiteFight's Fairies. I understood. We (Fairies) were and are a special group of people and we both really wanted the Fairies Realm Adoptions to be just as special. Both of us were just about ready to give up on the idea when I was around my grandmothers' one day. Just as I was leaving I passed by these two very familiar pictures of butterflies that my grandmother has hanging on her wall in her hallway. (Which you can see as you leave her house) she has had these pictures for as long as I can remember and seeing them just then sparked an idea in my head!
While I was new to being a Fairy and Fighter and just learning my way around the fights... I was an old Pro (and a Paid Member I might add, before it became free and gypped me of 50 dollars) of this new chat program (at the time) called The Palace. I was quite the expert in creating those now familiar cartoon doll avatars. While looking at those butterfly pictures something popped into in my head as to what one of those dolls would look like with a pair of wings behind her! I rushed home and quickly found some suitable pictures of butterfly wings on the net. Then I transferred some avatars that I had created in Palace to Paint Shop Pro. After working with the images for about 40 minutes or so tweaking and fiddling to get them just right the first of now many of my Fairy Dolls were born!!
And to think, I might never have gotten the idea to do that if I hadn't been around my grandmothers that day *smiles*. By The Way please remember this was in 1998, I really believe I was the original one to take those Dolls off Palace and use them in this manner. Because after that they seemed to pop up everywhere!!
Anyway I sent my 6 or so fairies to DFairy Star and she ABSOLUTLY LOVED them!!! She even made sure that I wanted to give something so original to the SiteFights and I remember telling her that they would be 10 time's more popular being adopted out by the Fairies Realm than somewhere on my homepage. So she made up some page's to put them on and fixed up the now familiar forms and we were up and running. I do believe we had adopted out a good 20 dolls in the first few hours of the page's official opening!
As time went by I learned to make my dolls bigger and better, I developed many wing styles and many bodies and I even made Male fairies and Baby Fairies, along with holiday fairies and birthstone fairies and my newest edition Elemental Fairies.
Just a Hint...next time you drop by the Fairy Adoptions take a good look at the pages. You can see the evolution of my dolls over the course of the year or two I've been creating them, all of them are still there, even the original one's. Start from the bottom of most any of the page's and you can see my dolls get bigger and better as you rise to the top *smiles*
At this point you might think my story is over but as the famous saying goes...but wait there's more! Keep in mind I started the SiteFights in 1998, it's now 2001, so I have a bit more to say ;-)
A Few months went by and I pretty much spent my time making my Adoptable Fairies for the Fairies Realm and I continued to be a Fairy for the StarFighters. But by this time I had quit fighting my WebPage for some reason I think I had made it to the Warzone but didn't get home in time to tell DStarla that I wanted back in the lower rings or something like that I can remember lol but anyway. One day DFairy Star sent out a message telling us that our dear Lady Nymphaea was having to resign as Lady for the StarFairies and would any one of like to apply. At first I didn't reply then I thought to myself why not I could do it. So I e-mailed her on December 26, 1998 and told her I would be interested in the Lady position by this time I had been with the SiteFights about three months going on four.
She e-mailed me back on the 28th of that month to make sure I knew what I was getting into...at the time the StarFighters was one of the 3 biggest groups and our spirit had been somewhat lacking. She wanted to make sure I would have enough time to devote to the StarFairies. I told her I would because I was on break from school and would be on break till mid January and that would give me lots of time to get settled as Lady. I had also managed to make lots of bodies and wings for my dolls and that was taking less time also. She wrote me back that day (still the 28th) and I became the Newest Lady for the StarFighters, Lady NightStar.
I had a lot of fun as Lady NightStar; I fixed up the StarFairy Page's and got to know DStarla really well. I also got to know all the wonderful people I had as Fairies and Wee Ones. A few of my favorites were Fairy Kismet, Fairy Bunny, Fairy Imzadi (who was only a fairy under me a short time but I got to know him best on icq after he quit) also Fairy Ivy and Fairy Annabelle (now Lady Annabelle) made quite an impression on me. One other person I'd like to mention is Wee One Smiley Sprinkles, she was one of my dearest little friends, but we lost touch after she quit the SiteFights and I became a Net Recluse. But I'm happy to say that we have found each other again (isn't the net wonderful in that way) and we are picking up right were we left off! OH!! I almost forgot SPOO!! (Please forgive) she was once upon a time a fairy under me (can't remember her Fairy Name unless it was Fairy Spoo [I'll have to ask]) She is another one who I just don't know who I would be talking to on the net if she wasn't around lol. They Say the SiteFights are for making friends and I believe them! Each one of these people I listed above have made their mark on me and I will always think fondly of them no matter what happens in my life *smiles*
To get back to my story though, after I was Lady for awhile I decided I wanted to fight my WebPage again. I only really wanted my page in a team, I didn't much care if I won I just wanted to be in on the fun. But since I was Lady for the StarFighters now, I decided I should pick a different team to compete in with my WebPage. So enter the Fantasy Fighters, yep that was my Fighting Team. I did rather well with them too! I quickly rose up though the ranks (not really knowing how or why) because I didn't advertise my page or have any vote exchangers. But I guess someone voted for me beside myself because I made it all the way to the WizardsLair with them in next to no time!
It was while I was in the WizardsLair when a somewhat disturbed DStarla contacted me, she told me that DUncle had to leave and she needed an Assistant in the worst way to take over the Assimilation Chambers and she asked me if I could do it. I thought about it and decided that I'd love to try, it would be fun to be an Assistant I thought. But there was only one problem...if you're an Assistant you can't fight your WebPage with any Team no matter what team you're Assisting for. (At least back in those days when they didn't have a separate directory that didn't link to the voting pages) So my WebPage was once again removed from the fights and DAndromeda was born *smiles* (but that's another story)
My story is finally coming to an end, I pretty much just did my Lady Duties, and Assistant Duties for the next year or so. I was a Lady for just about two years and an Assistant for the StarFighters a little under that. I was pretty good too! Even if I have to say so myself I was fairly well known though out the SiteFights. But near the end of those two years I began to run down and started to fizzle on my duties. It was then that I decided that I just needed to take a break, I talked if over with DFairy Star and she agreed I had been lacking. So we arranged for Annabelle to take my place as Lady since she was my Lady in Waiting. I also quit as Team Assistant Dandromeda. I had been doing worse as her than as Lady NightStar because I became so sick of having to update the Assimilation Chambers. I tried to keep doing a few small things for the StarFighters but my heart just wasn't in it anymore.
Two years is a long time and I just didn't give it my all like I did when I first joined the SiteFights in 1998. Finally in 2000 I was out of everything about the only thing I did do was make a handful of Fairies for DFairy Star to place on the Adoptions Page that was after all my baby.
But now in the year 2001, after a good year of rest and concentrating on something other than Dusting Reports, I feel ready to venture back into the Fights. This time I'm hoping to go further in the ring. And who knows someday I might join back up as a Fairy or become an Assistant somewhere again, I have the experience and the know how, but we will just have to wait and see if my Spirit is up to it *smiles*
