| Thus from the name, I expect you can discern the purpose of Expected Acumen. I intend to raise questions that will cause you to examine your personal beliefs or lack there of. I do not intend to incite arguments or submit a list of controversial issues of which you no doubt already know. When discussing these topics, I shall take as impartial a view as I am humanly possible. Expected Acumen is, however, my personal outlet of thoughts, so I trust that you will forgive my inherent bias. Feel free to disagree with me; in fact, I encourage you to do so. It is by way of constant censure from one's critics that one may enrich one's mind. Do not fear criticism, nor fear to give it. If you respect the intellect of another, you must value it enough to enhance it at all costs. Do not call it a critique. Such euphemisms have polluted the English language for far too long. A critique is merely a criticism one cannot support when challenged. If one cannot support one's claims with simple and sound reasoning, one must investigate the foundation of one's assertion. If one cannot deduce the foundation, one ought to stop making such claims. An extensive speech often makes a fallacious statement. By wary of those who speak much but say little. The English language is complicated as it is. Please do not further corrupt the language by misusing its words. If you have nothing of substance to say, do not waste oxygen. Fair warning: you may find me cynical, but that by no means makes me wrong. |
