Masquerade
Who are you trying to convince
It doesn't matter what's inside
There's more truth in the mask
Than self-deception and self-lies

Don't blame it on the pressure
If you give what other's expect
That's a glimpse into your character
What you see is what you get

There's nothing deep within
That you can't see on the surface
You're not more than you seem
You have no higher purpose

Don't think there's further cause
You fool no one but yourself
Behind the mask there's nothing
You can't be anything else

Take everything at face value
Don't search for something more
Mountains made of molehills
Hold the original in store

No secrets and no riddles
No hidden battle scars
Remove the mask and perish
Because the mask is what you are
