Parthenon is
Randy Knott- Vocals/Bass/Rhythm Guitar
Jacob "Ghandi" Verghese- Lead Guitar/Vocals
Angelo Iovino- Drums/Vocals
In February of 2003, Angelo and Jacob had both left a band called Eulodia, and they were left just jamming with each other occasionally in Angelos bedroom. One day in February, Angelo invited Randy to a jam session to test out his vocals, since at that time, all Randy could do was sing. After numerous Green Day covers and sloppily composing a song, a band was formed.
The band would practice almost every weekend thereafter until June, each time having a different name for the band. A couple names were Lyric, Soma, Across Waters, the three of them could never fully agree on a name. When Angelo and Jacob left Cary for months to go to California and Texas, respectively, Randy took vocals up for another band, Insult To Injury. When Angelo returned in late July and Jacob in August, Randy left Insult To Injury to go back to his original band. The band (then called Mirrors Image), although a bit rusty, got back into the swing of practicing.
They were offered a show by a friend of theirs in the beginning of August, and the band agreed to it, except for one minor problem; the absence of a bass player. So Randy borrowed a bass a week before the show, taught himself how to play and constructed simple basslines with Jacob in a weekend. Their first show was played on September 5th, 2003, under the name of Deadgrass with only about a six song set but hey, they were opening anyway.
The band decided on Parthenon as a permanent name sometime in October, and are ready and eager to play more shows in the Cary, NC area. Parthenons style transcends many different genres; from reggae to metal to alternative rock, and many more.
