| The Visual Arts in the modern period might be defined as a conception of primarly essential qualities of colour and flatness, exhibiting over the time a reduction of interest in subject matter. Artists were looking for aesthetic beuty without any kind of vulgarity; the mixture of dark and strong colors with soft and delicate lines gives an image of liberty in a world controlled by traditional rules. Many of the visual works show women naked sorrounded by men or others entities representing the pressure of conventional rules and dogmas. The visual art was emphasizing a critic against religion and its close-minded rules. |
| During the Modernist Era many artists tried to imitate the work done by Edouard Monet and Vincent Van Gohg, who first initiated the modernism in visual arts. Other like Pablo Picasso, Eugene DelaCroix, and Salvador Dali preferred to create new stiles without losing the modernist roots. For their significant and new styles they are considered the most important visual artists of the era. |
