| Synopsis: Archimidis has spent the past several months tracking down a violent serial killer by the name of Dane. The hunt had crossed most of the United States, and had left the Guardian a wanted man in Nebraska. Finally, Archimidis had tracked down Dane to a nightclub. But what should have been an 'easy' confrontation led into a direct conflict with Tiedrix and Dane that led to the destruction of the nightculb, and the Guardian with a new travelling companion named Serran. Having to track down Dane again, Archimidis and Serran ultimately end up in the small logging community of Evergreen. With Dane in hiding until the evening, both decide to relax in their motel room until nightfall. Meanwhile, Angel (utilizing the time to engage her own plans) convinces former military pilot David Johnson to fly her to Evergreen, where she hopes that the man will ultimately help the Guardian take out Dane. Unbenknownst to either of them, the last person in the puzzle, Montanna Thomas (whose partner was killed by Dane) slowly approaches the town that will ultimately bring the Seekers together. After a confrontation with Dane in the forest outside the town, Archimidis is helped back to his room by David, who was just passing by as the confrontation happened. He is convinced to help out the Guardian, and they start to hatch a plan to help bring an end to Dane, and to get the gem he posesses. Angel attacks the three men, and leads them into the forest (followed by a surprised Montanna) and the group is ambushed by Dane and the Dark Dominion. To get better odds, Archimidis slaps the few Seeker gems he's got onto the others' hands and officially initiates them into the Seekers. After yet another brief fight, Dane escapes and heads into the town, intending to raze the community. Realizing this can't happen, Angel and the Seekers unite to bring Dane down for good, and head for the town for the final confrontation. What results is a battle to end all battles as Montanna and Archimidis fight for vengeance, and the rest of the Seekers try to prevent the destruction of Evergreen. When the smoke clears, one of the Seekers is dead, and Dane has been defeated. Both gems taken by the Dark Dominion. |
