Letter to a Friend

As I wake in early days, and wipe my sleepy haze
No more can I hold you now, my friend I can't embrace
And it's hard to believe, the reason you left me
I know it's not your fault now, so your memory I'll retrieve
But the road it seems so long, so hard to be so strong
And if you watch from up above, I know I'll do no wrong
So I stay another day, and wipe my tears away
I close my eyes and hope to god, I'll see you again I pray

It's a letter to my friend
Who seen his days end
I know that I can just stay strong
And watch my deep wounds mend
So this to you I send
More than just a friend
And when my time has come to pass
I'll gladly see you then

As I walk down that road, the pain inside me grows
It's hard to forget that day, when everything went cold
And it's hard to say the words that one time came in herds
Now when it's my turn to speak they fly away like birds
I know I made mistakes, I guess that's what life takes
So if I close my eyes and pray, maybe it'll be ok

It's a letter to my friend
Who seen his days end
I know that I can just stay strong
And watch my deep wounds mend
So this to you I send
More than just a friend
And when my time has come to pass
I'll gladly see you then
