The following photos are from years ago, but they are very special to me. I think I did take these pictures; they are of my sister and my late surrogate grandfather, who died in May 1998. He was a wonderful man to my family, and although the pain over his death has mostly died by now, he will be forever missed. In at least one of these photos, he is doing what my sister called "upside-down smiling", which to you may look like a smirk, but I don't think it was. As my sister put it, his mouth was in the shape of a frown, but his eyes were laughing. In the photo with the book, see if you can't tell what we mean by this. |
