Keyboard Keys: Click a Letter button to insert its caption (text) into the Output Textbox. The UPPER CASE/lower case button, inside Keyboard Keys, applies the case to the Letter text of each button. This means you can assert the CaSe of individual text characters. Each punctuation character button inserts its caption (text) into the Output Textbox. Space Bar, Newline (Enter), and Backspace have the same effect as your regular keyboard. You can still use the regular keyboard to type keystrokes. Just make sure that the Output Textbox has the focus. Numbers: Click a Number button to insert its caption (text) into the Output Textbox. Using the Numbers and Signs etc.., you can create formulas. Excel assumes any insertion that begins with an equals sign (=) to be of a formula construct. Signs etc..: Click a Signs etc... button to insert its caption (text) into the Output Textbox. Selected Text: Highlight words or characters in the Output Textbox then click a label description to apply that action. Each action applies only to the Output Texbox ... except Paste. Paste uses information from the clipboard. You can copy text from another source then click the paste label to insert the clipboard contents into the Output Textbox. All Text: A textbox has limitations. It is not like a RichTextbox that behaves like a word document. RichTextboxes are not currently available in Excel. All options in "All Text" applies to all of the text in the Output Textbox, not individual words or characters. CUT & COPY applies to all the text in the Output Textbox. Paste uses information from the clipboard. You can copy text from another source then click the Paste button to insert the clipboard contents into the Output Textbox. Bold, Underline and Italics can be applied at anytime, all of them or a combination can be used. When the button is depressed, click it again to undo its action. Left Align, Center Align, and Right Align can be applied at anytime. When the button is depressed, click it again to undo its action. The default is Left Align. UNDO and REDO have limitaions. They behave badly and do not always do what you assume they would do. Avoid these two if possible. SIZE applies a font size to all the text. A Color dropdown has basic color options for font colors. Colorbox is a form with Red, Green, and Blue scrollbars that you move to mix colors. Move the bars for a quick scroll. Text colors and Backcolors can be created. Excel has limitations on colors and some colors may not appear as they look when applied to a cell. Select option Back Color, scroll your colors then set to option None. Select option Text Color, scroll your colors, then select option None. If option None is set, you can play with the scrollbars without affecting anything. Pick Lists: Picklist1 - taken from Start sheet in Column P - contains words that are long or hard to spell. Picklist2 - taken from Start sheet in Column Q - contains words that are repetitious or repetitive. You can change the words to anything that suits. Blank cells are ignored. When words are inserted, it is rare that a space does not follow. The loading process looks for a space and if there is none, adds a space to the word. The Pick Lists are Range Defined on loading and are not referred to again until EasyText_rev1 is started. File Options: OPEN inserts a files' contents into the Output Textbox only. Application-related files will not load. Only ascii type files like .txt, .inf, ,dat, .dll etc. The Output Textbox has a limit of approximately 65335 characters including spaces and carriage returns. However, this also depends on size, character type etc.. I have limited the Output text to 16000 characters including spaces and carriage returns. SAVE will open a SaveAs Dialog so you can save the Output Text to a file. If a file exists then a message box gives you an option to overwrite or not. Files can only be saved as .txt PRINT will only send the Output Text to the Printer. The Printer dialog will not show. HOME recalibrates the current directory to the ActiveWorkbook directory. Click anytime. Current Path: If you use the File Options OPEN or SAVE and open or save to a different folder than the current one, the path also changes. When you save your workbook, it may or may not save to the folder you expect. The Current Path shows you where you are currently. Click the HOME button to change the path to the current ActiveWorkbook Path. Calibrate Sheets: Use the dropdown to select a sheet. You can open any workbook and Calibrate Sheets pertaining to that workbook to appear in the Select Sheet dropdown. If there is a workbook already open then the sheet calibration will be on that workbook when EasyText_rev1 loads, not this workbook. Hidden and very hidden sheets will be ignored. You do not need to exit the form, click "Hide EasyText", or move the form, to reveal your workbooks' commandbars. Alternatively, click a cell, press "ALT" then "F" to show the Open Dialog. Open a workbook then click the Calibrate Sheets button. Select Sheet: Use the dropdown to select a sheet or you can select a sheet tab. Apply Output Colors to Cell: If colors have been applied to the output Text, you can apply those same colors to a selected cell (Excel permitting). Insert Output Text to Cell: The Output Text is inserted into the current Activecell. Carriage returns in the textbox are included in with the inserted text as are other formmats such as bold, text alignment etc.. OOPS: A string file saves any text in the Activecell. If you insert Output Text into the wrong cell. you can undo this action. Hide EasyText: If you EXIT you lose all your settings. Click "Hide EasyText" and the form is hidden. An unhide button is located in the top-left corner of your screen. This allows you to access the workbook. Character Count: Characters include spaces, carriage returns, backspaces and characters. When the count is more than 255, the count color changes to red.The maximum allowed is approximately up to 16,000 characters. About: Programmed, designed and solely written by Mark E. Secret: If you click the EasyText_rev1 image in the help form, it writes all the help files to a file in the activeworkbook path then feeds it into the Help textbox. This is my only indescretion.
