Matt Morginsky, Jason Carson and Tony Terusa are the three founding members of the Supertones. They were involved in a local band called "Saved" which played songs from every musical genre, including punk, disco, metal, funk, rap, hard-core and rock. When they realized that they weren't really going anywhere they formed the OC Supertones and concetrated on playing ska with pop-punk influences. The 'OC' in their band name stands for Orange County (in California) where all the band members come from and which also is the home of other popular ska bands. Their first album,
"Adventures of the OC Supertones" was released in May 1996 and was an instant smash with over a hundred thousand records sold. The Supertones were prabably the Christian music industry's first successful ska band. They paved the way for the big ska-wave with a lot of new Christian ska bands following in their footsteps. In the fall of 1996 the Supertones toured with MxPx receiving an overwhelming response. Their second album, "Supertones Strike Back" was released a year later debuting at #2 on
Christian music charts, and at #3 on the Billboard Heat Seekers chart. It went on to sell over three hundred thousand records. In the spring of 1998 they toured with Audio Adrenaline on the "Some Kind of Zombie tour". On February 23, 1999 they released "Chase the Sun". The Supertones' music has been played at televised sporting events, on MTV (including M2, 120 minutes, and MTV proper), on the show Extreme Sports, and even at the 1998 MTV Video Awards. On January 26, 1999 the Supertones played for the Pope and President Clinton at the Light of the World Papal Youth Rally in St. Louis, MO, an event which only happens twice a
decade. Fifty thousand peple were expected to attend, and the event was aired worldwide. Thier latest albumb, "Loud and Clear" is full of excellent music and an even better message.

Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews...To the weak I bacame weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its belssings.
