Recent Fitness Reports ========================== CDR S'Tveck is a correct officer you can always trust in. He would probably be one of the most brilliant officers if his stubbornness and love for Science did not keep him from a more dedicated study of Starfleet issues. Nevertheless he has surprised me quite some times with strange, but logical, strategies and solutions to problems. Despite his mainly Social Sciences formation, he is knowledgeable in those fields where a problem in a starship may arise. When the XO billet became vacant, he was the most logical option for acting XO. He was capable of adapting to his new position in an short time. Psychological Profile ========================== CDR S'Tveck is, as expected in a Vulcan, a calmed, logical officer. However, his studies on other civilizations and being born and raised in a Colony world has given him a unique filosophy. He possess a fierce spirit, strong will and a true passion about Nature. His fascination is sometimes reflexed in his almost obsessive behavior when confronted to problems that really caught him. He is not a very socializing man, what's understandable provided most of his formation had been in solo work. However he moves comfortably in closed teams for extended periods of time; that's a common situation in most field work related to paleosociology or archaeology. Conversely, he has demonstrated to be able to endure extremely harsh conditions in solitude without noticeable effect on his psyche. This helps in his marriage to a Vulcan in S'svrack, she is actually a former school parter of him and former neighbor. They became bonded in their teens and have a fullfilling relationship since then. This talks high about his loyalty and principles. On his performance with other officers and fellow crew members, he is neither too cold nor too harsh. He always demands 100% efficiency, nothing more, nothing less. However he seems able to instintively detect the necessary amount of demanding, all speak about him as correct, kind and patient. This may be related to his extraordinary psychic abilities. Even though he couldn't receive proper training when he was young, he shows capabilities above the average. His control over them is not perfect, though, but he is actively working on his blocks, so he doesn't violate anyone's intimacy. He enjoys creative hobbies as scale modelling. B. Background Summary: ====================== Cayle has lived the bulk of her life aboard a starship; she was born while her father was the XO and her mother was a councellor on the USS RUTLEDGE. When she was 4, her father assumed command of the USS ODYSSEY, a Galaxy- class starship, where her mother took a posting on the same ship as COU. The Velds would spend the next 14 years on the ODYSSEY- this is where Cayle's formative years were spent. When she was 18, she applied to and was accepted into Star Fleet Academy. It was around this time that her father retired from Star Fleet rather than accept promotion to RADM- he didn't feel his talents would be best served behind a desk. Cayle's mother retired several years beforehand, while she was beginning her adolescence, so as to devote more time to the raising of young Cayle. Due to her upbringing, Cayle does not truly feel at home anywhere but on a starship; indeed, she chooses to stay in VOQ whenever she is between assignments as she retains no other permanent address. She is decidely her father's daughter- she shares the same passion for exploration and the search for knowledge, and would scoff at any attempt to derail her quest. It is for this reason that Cayle originally turned down her assignment to DS13- she felt her opportunities for such explorations would be limited on a star base. However, her ultimate goal is command of a starship, and she was strongly advised by superiors to take the position should she desire a command of her own in the future. Begrudgingly, she accepted. However, she is beginning to come to terms with this assignment, preferring to look at it as just another challenge for her. But it IS clear that she considers this assignment as merely a stepping-stone in her career- she has no intention of making DS13 her permanent address. C. Personality Summary: ======================= Caylebreth (prefers to be called "Cayle") is an extremely emotional and excitable person, which, like most things, is a double-edged sword. While her emotionalism leads to a stronger connection with the crew and thusly serves as her primary motivating factor, she sometimes can react to situations based strictly on her emotions. She relies on her "gut" to help solve problems for her, and her intuition has served her well thus far- for the most part. Indeed, following her instincts played a key role in eventually landing her last posting, that of Acting XO on the AKAGI. Serving initially as OPS on the AKAGI during a classified diplomatic mission, the UFP mediator lost control of the situation and the AKAGI found herself in the middle of an interplanetary war. The AKAGI lay between both warring factions, separating the two fleets. Eventually, one side fired on AKAGI in an effort to eliminate the mediators and end the dispute in one, final action. In this volley, the AKAGI's XO was killed. Cayle immediately assumed the XO's position, and eventually played a key role in diffusing the situation and restoring peace to the sector. As a result of her initiative and subsequent role in the peace process, she was breveted to the rank of LCDR and named aXO for the remainder of the mission. Her emotionalism is Cayle's defining character trait at this time- most of her actions are based on some form of emotional response. His father and most of his extended family worked as grunt labor in the mines (DMEI does not use automation for a large part of its operation). He was given a very basic and simplistic education by the DMEI school system, but only went to school half days and worked in the mines the other half. All workers at DMEI are provided very basic housing and little else. When he was 9, Eric began using his share of DMEI "credits" to obtain "book PADDS." He read these in whatever free time he had. When the Federation learned of the appalling educational situation on DMEI worlds, they established secondary schools and enforced that the DMEI require attendance. Eric excelled in the Federation Secondary school and in his second year at the school began reading books on tactics, which he found extremely interesting. His family laughed at the idea and rebuked him, telling him that mining was all he'd ever be good for, just like the rest of them. At SFA Eric discovered that in conjunction with his Tactical studies, he thoroughly enjoyed the Starfleet Security program. As one of the main scientific centers of the Federation his parents were constantly busy and he grew up with a series of nannies. During this time his proficiency for language allowed him to pick up 4 Terran languages. He also acitively participated in every intramural sport he could find. His small build never kept him from attempting to play with the big boys, but many times it led to injuries (3 broken arms and 12 cracked ribs over 6 years). Sometime during his doctorate work he finally forgave his parents (and Star Fleet) for his disease. His sister locked him in a small, hidden compartment lined with sensor-disrupting metals as she attempted to defend her ship. The ship was disabled and boarded, and for six hours his sister was raped and tortured to death not two meters from him. After the pirates left, Alistair effected repairs and limped back to Deep Space Seven. Two weeks later, his mother, stricken by grief, disappeared and was later presumed dead. Alistair was devastated by the loss of his family. Two months of counciling sessions only increased his frustration, and his hatred of councilors. He was sent to Earth to live with his paternal grandfather, CDR. (retired) William James Boyington in upstate New York. His grandfather slowly put him back together, teaching Alistair the simple pleasures of hunting, small arms, and flying. Alistair developed his cocky, flamboyant attitude during these years, his grandfather his role model. His tendency to ignore 'The Book' makes him a daring and unpredictable opponent, although some of his tactics can fall through do to too much complexity and micromanagement, if Cadet Boyington can learn from his mistakes in this matter, he will go from a 'Superior' tactician to an 'Excellent' one. ---Captain C. Morris Head of Tactical Dept., SFA Cadet Boyington is a disgrace to his uniform. His attitude and command style are unbecoming of an officer. When in command, Mr. Boyington is erratic, tending to lapse from easygoing to demanding without warning. His attitude towards those under his command is atrocious, as demonstrated by his Kobayashi Maru test. He tends to 'forget' those under his command's lives are his responsibility, and he takes extremely unnecessary risks with them. When under another's authority, he tends to question orders constantly, and when in action, he tends to act on his own initiative without orders. My advice to any future CO of Mr. Boyington would be to keep him on a short leash. --- Captain F. Trinh Head of Command Dept., SFA Cadet Boyington is an excellent example of Starfleet material. He leans toward the 'applied' sciences, as in relation to his main interests. His navigation and maneuvering mathematics are superb, while abstract warptheory was a struggle for him. I believe that he experiences slight trauma concerning the way he was born, and a sense of invincibility that no amount of hospital time can dissuade. I believe that he feels that he should have died with his mother, but that since he did not, he cannot die now. He hungers for danger and is addicted to adrenaline, purposely searching out the most dangerous past times and situations, almost as if testing Fate or God or the Universe. Pushed by his father, he applied to Starfleet Academy and graduated with some minor disciplines on his record, while majoring on xenosurgery. He then married doctor Jane Calloway, MD, all at age 26. They served on the same ship since then. After some more services on Starfleet vessels, he applied to command evaluation. While on exams, his father passed away, what affected him and gave him the determination to finish what he had started. He approved his exams and after some more years, on stardate 80914, he was promoted to O-5 and given his first command on the USS RAMON Y CAJAL, a medical vessel. On stardate 100223, the USS RAMON Y CAJAL encountered a stranded line ship. All the crew and passengers suffered from a strange illness provocked by a mutation of an Andorian virus. The virus somehow passed the biological screenings and contaminated the crew of the RAMON Y CAJAL. When Dohan and others managed to find a cure, more than the 78% of the crew had already died, included her spouse. Dohan presented his resignation but Starfleet command only allowed him to become a reservist, giving him an extended leave of absence. He took the chance to go back to Mars, where he stood until recently summoned back to active service. Something he didn't like. Characteristics: Dugan has an acidic sense of humor and a sarcastic attitude. His vision of life is very pesimistic. He doesn't like weapons. And he absolutely hates the bridge of the ship. He is unbelievably hurt by his wife's leaving, and feels that she unfarely deserted him.
