Metals, fruits and other plant-products, fish, and other jungle-esque things are easily accessed on the islands, along with a wide variety of wildlife to be hunted. A chicken-like lizard is often a domesticated animal used for food, their skins and bones commonplace in jewelry and other accessories and household items. Bigger game is often hunted for feasts. Richness is flaunted by wearing it on the person. Tattoos are commonplace as a visual signifier of milestones reached.

The clans are governed by elders, always male. Peace is often made among clans through marriages. You live in a patriarchal society where women are primarily seen as objects, though there are "strong women" known as norst who have become so from necessity (i.e. husband dying) or by very nature. Men often have many wives, though it is improper for women to marry more than once. The norst are often considered whores. Young women and girls often go missing without a trace, referred to euphamistically as "the jungle taking a wife." Men and boys go missing, as well, but usually pieces of them are found.

All members of the clans should contribute to the clan in some way, whether it be hunting, mining, domestic tasks, or healing. The clans usually provide for the less fortunate among them and for the elders, whose responsibilities are governing.

Mines are usually considered clan owned and wealth is spread to all, though those who do the actual mining get a larger cut. This is not the case on Ubea, where men have claimed mines and exploit those who work the mines. They keep the elders happy, which is how this has survived for so long.

Your people are dark skinned (think Native American or Aztec) with dark hair. Due to the warm climate, clothing is not a necessity but rather a status symbol. Clothing is most often a cloth like cotton, billowy and soft. Bright colors are obtained from plant dyes, and multi-colored fabrics are a sign of prosperity. Loincloths and skirts are the most common dress. Hunters often sport pelts, teeth, and claws from their kills. Metals are the primary sign of wealth, along with the precious stones that can be mined. A diamond-like stone has been found on Nrabond, making them very wealthy. Everyone goes barefoot.
