| ENGLISH SELF A smooth coated cavy with coat all one colour. Colours are; Black White available with either pink eyes or dark eyes Cream Buff Saffron Golden available with either pink eyes or dark eyes Chocolate Red Beige Lilac NON SELF other breeds of cavy Himalayan available with either black or chocolate points Satin solid a cavy exhibiting any of the self colours but with a satinized coat. Not seen in black as the satin doesn't show and blacks have very shiny coats anyway. Satin AOV (any other variety) any breed of cavy except selfs that have a satinized coat. English crested A smoothcoated cavy which is any of the self colours with a crest on its head. The crest is the same colour as the body colour. American crested a smoothcoated cavy with either black or golden body colour with a white crest on its head. Crested AOV any other breed of smoothcoated cavy that has a crest. Agouti this is the typical pattern of the wild cavies and comes in many colours. Abbysinian Dutch Tortoiseshell & white Dalmatian Roan Argente Sheltie Peruvian Coronet Texel this is a sheltie with a curly coat Merino this is a coronet with a curly coat Alpaca a peruvian with a curly coat Rex Tortoiseshell a cavy with red & black patches making a checkerboard pattern. Brindle a cavy with an even intermixing of red & black hairs Tri colour a cavy with patches of any three colours except red/black/white Bi colour a cavy with patches of any two colours except red & black RARE VARIETIES breeds of cavy that cannot be shown in the open side of a show. Harlequin a cavy having patches of black, cream and black/cream mix Magpie a cavy having patches of black, white and black/white mix Slate Fox a solid coloured cavy with a white belly, white eye circles, white pea spots (spots on the forehead beside each ear) white nostrils, white patches underneath the chin and white tipped flecking on the sides and rump. Available in black, chocolate, lilac and beige with white markings. Tan the same as the fox but having rich tan coloured markings instead of white. Ridgeback a smoothcoated cavy with an erect ridge of hair running from the neck to the rump. NEW VARIETIES new breeds of cavy that are still under development and are kept by only a few dedicated fanciers. Torti tans a cavy with black and tan stripes resembling a bumblebee Somali an abbysinian with a rexed coat. Also available in satin. Havana a cavy with body colour between black and chocolate, also known as sepia. Otter a cavy marked like the fox and tan but having cream/lemon markings not white or tan. Sheba mini-yak a roughcoated cavy with medium length hair that falls randomly making the cavy look like a mop. Sable Marten sable Pink eyed cream a self cream cavy but with pink eyes. Mosaic a cavy having patches of four colours. These cannot actually be bred and are found in litters from tri colour matings. Irish crested a smoothcoated cavy with a crest in the middle of the back and two ridges running up either side of the spine. The hair between these ridges grows toward the head and gives the cavy a sort of funny fringe on its head. Teddy Galloway smoothcoated cavy with black body with white band around middle.
